It was probably the DML (Dragon) 1:72 scale kit of the Su-24.
It was later re-boxed by Italeri – and is now being sold by the Russian firm of Zvezda :-
It comes in two variants – the Su-24M and MR
It is Dragon 1:72
Imagine putting Al-31s in them. Sharp low level deep penetration strikes into the enemy heartland..
I even think it is nearly best striker that far more than F-111 without any development
At 1990s the lonely Su-24 at home base Al-Bakar Air Base at north of Baghdad, and I saw it over Baghdad in 1993.
Excuse me,have you been in Iraq?
attempt at reviving this topic.. the Fencer seems to retain the mystery and charm of the old soviet aircrafts..
I always feel that SU-24 is a sort of quite advanced attacker(or bomber,IMHO I can’t staple SU-24 definitely to a certain sort for I know it little)But few people thinks as I.
I still remember in my 10 years old, once I went to a model store and saw a strange aircraft model box that the words on it reads SU-24 Fencer.I think:What is this?I have never heard about it.
I’m from China, interested in aviation&aircraft. but in the city I live,I and my classmates who like these have few chance to see some good magazines or books about that.As you known, most fine stuff published in west world. In my country there few books about aviation&aircrafts published for us and even the stuff always be coarseness and superficiality.
So,may I ask you for some of your magazines collection for me and my friends who also like aircrafts. We really need your help.
After my reading, maybe I will take them to the library of my school.I don’t understand why compared to a same book,in China it often cost only 1/10-1/20 of another which sells in Europe. That is a economic question for discussion, but for us students,we couldn’t offer the books published abroad such as in Europe. However, the books or magazines by Chinese seems always be disappointing.
If you really want to help me & the air fans around me.I’m glad to see you wish to help us.
Whatever you are a nice guy thinks willing to help others. So thanks a lot without reference to what you will do.
I’m fond of military art prints & like drawing pictures about aviation or others.I wonder May I have chances to talk about the topic by E-mails if you get spare time and you’d like to.
First of all,I must say I drawing rather worse than you maybe for no professional art training haven’t been taken.
And I must say that your art prints are pretty good.

Have you paid any attentions about what are the producing areas of the kits kept by yourselves?
Those are other two
Most importantly (dax & curlyboy) or anyone else: is there any way of getting spare parts for old Matchbox model aircraft?
The biggest problem with building my Supermarine Stranraer,is the lost pilot & cockpit parts.
Any ideas? Maybe some websites?
I’m willing to do a favour for you by scanning the parts of it to a picture with it’s size and then post it on the Internet. This will make you see it and remake new parts by yourself.
But before I do those,I must find a kit at first. So,IT MAY BE A LONG TIME.
I built several Matchbox kits. They were the worst quality kits out there, but they made kits that no one else would.
Sounds well!
In my opinion, the paintings on the front of the kit boxes is the best part of that, and the Matchbox’s box-art is the best among all the brands.
My A4 scanner can not scan it fully for it is too large to scan all the parts.
The other two.
I’ll post more pictures by scanning my collections.I expect you like them.
I consider the packaging paintings by Roy Huxley on Matchbox scale kit box to be best of all.I think those are much better than TAMIYA,Academy,ZVEZDA…
Two of my collections:
I bought those when I’m 10.
i have a whole of load of them lying around the house!got a lot of MiG29s in various conditions!it is very hard to keep them in good condition when you have 3brothers that younger than you and are addicted to dropping them!
I have ever got one B-17.And I had kept it in very good condition, but one time my father claned it carelessly make it broken.I have even feeling very sad from then on,if I remember that.
Anyhow, the Matchbox connect too much to my experiences.
Do you like post some photos of your model kits?I guess them to be very nice.
