The reason I believe we do not have the right to kill someone is because it is inhumane.
While their actions may be inhumane I do not see why killing the perpetrator makes the sentence just and not just revenge.
I also don’t understand why the family of the victim would want the perpetrator killed for any other reason than revenge.
How can it be just to kill those that have killed?I’ll throw the question back at you. Why do you think the death penalty is anything other than revenge?
Take Sutcliffe for example, if he had killed my mother, call it revenge if you want, I would be more than happy to kill him myself. Revenge? Justice? Call it what you will.
I cannot see a connection between an individual taking advantage of taxpayer funded help to those in genuine need and directors of a public company who have an obligation to pay the minimum tax the law requires. If people object to outcome of that they need to change the law not to criticise individuals acting responsibly on behalf of their shareholders.
Sorry, to start the thread and not reply, too busy.
For the record I’m a company director and I pay myself a wage that is just under the income tax and NI threshold. Why do I do it? Because the law lets me. I do take dividends and pay 20% on them. I also collect VAT for the government which costs me do so.
So why start the thread? I work and hard with long hours. Not asking for harps to start playing, my choice.
There are feckless toerags who don’t work who want everything on a plate. However I think it’s been blown out of all proportion in this street. But there are loads of career spungers out there.
The difference is I work! They don’t.
Most agnostics are very tolerant of others beliefs/faiths…because the whole subject is of absolutely no importance LOL
Erm, I’am athiest and I’m very tolerent of all faiths and religions. TBH I find peoples beliefs interesting, my friend is Jewish and to look at the various rituals they do is out of this world. Crazy, but fine with me and I find it facinating at the same time.
What should be said, as I have done before is if you are happy believing great. Do I agree with your faith/religion….Err no. I think you are off your head.
But if you are happy, good for you.
Sorry, I missed this thread. I did reply on another one.
“Ah the CPS at it again,
The ones that thought it a good idea to do 3 guys because they took some food from a bin.
They have now (the CPS) have dropped the case.”

The ladies won though 🙂
And not for the first time, well done them:eagerness:
However there was a lot of good overtakes in 2013;

Not enough overtakes though, However Vettel seems to be having a struggle with his new car.
But how is a V6 turbo cutting costs?

Breaking two arms and a leg serves the guy right, if he wasn’t out stealing he wouldn’t have had his limbs broken.
instead of making people do voluntary work … or however you want to word it, for their benefits, why not just turn those ‘voluntary’ positions into proper working positions and pay the claimant a wage… then they could come off benefits…. or is that too sensible?
I agree, if a job needs doing pay a proper wage to do it. It’s simple, if I need a job doing I pay someone to do it.
Well none of us where there
Nore were you. Two to one isn’t vigilantism, it’s self defence.
No chance of fridge magnet for me, the ‘war department’ got a fridge behind a door. 🙁
John, people working for their benefits isn’t the answer. If there is a job that needs doing. Pay them to do it.
I have never agreed with people working for benefits. A job is a job, pay the person for doing it.
Feckless scroungers is something else.
It’s legal to kill a scum bag if your life is in danger. I think they got away lightly.
As an after thought how can goods be worth £33 if they are in a bin?
Fair play to Iceland who have said that’s it’s nothing to do with them.
Just a thought – about twenty years ago I nearly killed someone when I threw some large pieces of exhibition stand framework into a skip at the company where I worked in Nottingham.
Someone was inside the skip illegally rummaging for scrap metal and I didn’t see them! The incident caused the company to request a different style of skip, to stop the chance of something similar happening again.
Frightened the life out of me and I bet it did the same to ‘skippy!’
It can happen. Get into a skip and it’s not safe. Rather than starve I would get in one.
‘European Legislation so like it or not it’s here to stay.’
It is, common sense out of window yet again.
Obviously the CPS looked at all the bad publicity and had second thoughts…
The Met are still left looking silly though.
Iceland also didn’t want the bad publicity either.
But to me the issue is way so much food is thrown away?
Use by dates aren’t realistic, if it’s not mouldy and doesn’t smell it’s fine to eat.
Even if is mouldy I cut off mouldy bits, it’s fine underneath.
