Halifax?
And it seems it didn’t change course, loosing altitude like it did so why not change course in order to find an emergency airport?
What ever the reason the passengers and crew won’t come back.
Terrible news, R.I.P.
But something seems out of place, no Mayday or radio comms. Had there been an oxygen loss it would have continued on auto-pilot. Major structural failure and it would have dropped like a brick.
What ever happened terrible for the families who have lost loved ones.
Meier Motors may disagree. Or a tongue in cheek comment?
I can’t argue with that John.
According to the Daily Fail article the owners want $1.5m for it. The estimate for restoration is $200,000. How did they get that restoration figure? At that amount they would struggle to get it in a static display condition.
“Blazing squad: A fire in the Hurricane is seen during maintenance, caused by a problem with the priming pump”
Looks like the pump is working working ok to me.
Typo Tony, F28.
As the pricing is and everything else is pretty similar I think you’ll find most pilots would go for the loggable option.
Moggy
I have just seen the price, fair point.
The availability of hands on, loggable time.
Moggy
I have flown many a plane without loggable time. I was just happy to get my hands on the controls. Depends if you want to fly a plane or add another to your log book.
News to me, thanks for the info. I didn’t realise Mk V’s were still operational.
Mark, can’t have been many others thought?
That said not much Luftwaffe opposition at that time, a Mk V can strafe as well as a Mk IX I suppose.
