Thanks for that Charlie, I didn’t know she was flown in.
Found this on Wikipedia, gives the address as No. 6 Basing Hill. It was the first fatal one in Britain, not the first ever.

Ken, I volunteer as well, not at Duxford though, so I know what the problems are. But she does look unloved, but it seems she isn’t.
Keep up the good work!
Hi All, lapsed licenses please ? :eagerness:
:stupid:;););)
Geoff.
I let my HGV license lapse, I hadn’t driven one for a couple of years, and I didn’t intend to drive one again. I had reached 45 and I needed a medical to keep my HGV license. A medical is needed every five years after you reach 45.
Blowing my own trumpet, I have done about 2 million miles with no points :p
Maybe Alan, but she doesn’t look well looked after.
Duxford Wednesday 7th January:
The One Eleven’s absence from Airliner Row allows a clearer view of the Trident 2E:
Fingers crossed the Trident will be next for a repaint, she looks like she needs it.
And Sherburn in Elmet is only a few miles away.
Are the days of Sherburn numbered? I have heard a rumour that’s its destined to become a housing estate.
Please keep them coming, I have always had a soft spot for the Beaufighter.
Thanks for that TA, one of my favourite planes of WW2 the Hurricane.
Lots of real Globemasters

Ahem, historic forum…
You’re welcome!
The thread is titled ‘Duxford Diary’. The coming and goings at Duxford, a small amount is modern. What’s the issue?
Thanks for the info on the Wildcat, I have no idea with the modern stuff.
I have to agree with Moggy, it’s one fugly ‘copter. But function first.
I think it’s still in the UK getting repaired.
Just seen on Facebook that’s it’s now loaded on C130.
Are the Wildcats a new build or an upgrade?
