I cannot see a connection between an individual taking advantage of taxpayer funded help to those in genuine need and directors of a public company who have an obligation to pay the minimum tax the law requires. If people object to outcome of that they need to change the law not to criticise individuals acting responsibly on behalf of their shareholders.

Sorry, to start the thread and not reply, too busy.

For the record I’m a company director and I pay myself a wage that is just under the income tax and NI threshold. Why do I do it? Because the law lets me. I do take dividends and pay 20% on them. I also collect VAT for the government which costs me do so.

So why start the thread? I work and hard with long hours. Not asking for harps to start playing, my choice.
There are feckless toerags who don’t work who want everything on a plate. However I think it’s been blown out of all proportion in this street. But there are loads of career spungers out there.

The difference is I work! They don’t.

Most agnostics are very tolerant of others beliefs/faiths…because the whole subject is of absolutely no importance LOL

Erm, I’am athiest and I’m very tolerent of all faiths and religions. TBH I find peoples beliefs interesting, my friend is Jewish and to look at the various rituals they do is out of this world. Crazy, but fine with me and I find it facinating at the same time.

What should be said, as I have done before is if you are happy believing great. Do I agree with your faith/religion….Err no. I think you are off your head.
But if you are happy, good for you.

Twenty two years of army life teaches a very good lesson in coping with frustrations (in the army they’re called officers).

We called them Ruperts not officers. But please Mike keep the updates comming.

Agreed BUT if you were an employer would you WANT one of these working for you representing your company.

I’m an employer I wouldn’t employ these people.

As for, “I really feel sorry for those who do have a work ethic buit cant get work.”
Jobs are there, get off your bum and get one! I have shoveld ****e, not nice but it was a wage

The British don’t have a work ethic, that’s the problem. The Poles etc etc will do the crap jobs.
I was brought up in Leeds. In an area like the one on the programme. I had a choice work or crime. I went to work. At the time unemplyment in the area was 30% or more.

    Salomanuel, welcome to the forum.

If you want a job in ATC or as a pilot you have to be fluent in English.

At 26 the world is your oyster. What do you really want to do? Work that out and you can do what you want.
You only have one chance in this world, go for what you want. If it donesn’t happen then so be it. But try any way.

In the early years of WW1 the Generals thought they were fighting the tribes in the empire. They repeatedly sent men over the top and told them to walk, not run and not to use any cover they could find.

They also sent cavilery at the German lines time and time again. Horses and the riders were killed in their hunderds

In the battle of the Somme around 1,000,000 were lost on all sides. Around 24,000 on the allied side on the first day alone.

I thnk Blackadder Goes Forth summed it up rather well.
