In the early years of WW1 the Generals thought they were fighting the tribes in the empire. They repeatedly sent men over the top and told them to walk, not run and not to use any cover they could find.

They also sent cavilery at the German lines time and time again. Horses and the riders were killed in their hunderds

In the battle of the Somme around 1,000,000 were lost on all sides. Around 24,000 on the allied side on the first day alone.

I thnk Blackadder Goes Forth summed it up rather well.

Charlie, Missed being able to post, but business has been mad, I’ve been able to pop on for a bit but not really able to post.

That’s the thing with religion. Very well put though, I have to agree.

“Believers believe, agnostics aren’t sure and atheists don’t”

I’m in the atheist camp, but if you or enyone else believes, no issue here.

I have Irish grand parents and they would be disgusted with this post. For them it would be so out of order!

For me, I found it funny:applause: they are just bloody Micks with no sense of humour.

I can’t be bothered to read ten pages.
I don’t believe in God. But if a person does believe that’s fine with me.
What I don’t like is someone knocking on my door and telling me how wonderful God is. They get told to naff off!
Enjoy your religion if that makes you happy, but don’t try and convert me and shove your God on me.

Unless you want a race or rally car don’t bother with all the mods. If you want a more driveable car with better MPG just get a mid range re-map. I can’t recomend one of these boxes from eBay.

snafu, lets not go over that old chestnut again please, it’s been flogged to death.

Military law isn’t so different to civil law, the punishment is up to the ‘judge,’ the same in both worlds.

Some differences though, failure to obey an order could mean loss of pay or time in the Guard House, or even the old classic of spud bashing and painting stones. Depends on the severity.

A civvy may have a section five and have a hand slap and a nominal fine, a squaddie may have the same.

It’s not something you can just generalise on.

Terrible news, but the loss of life and the injuring could have been so much worse.

When you join the forces you just have to take it a red that you will do this or the other. It’s a job you do.
The boots on the ground doesn’t choose where to go, or who to fight. It’s the so called ‘leaders’ that dictate that.
