Similar to ‘happy slapping’ but more extream.

I did see a you tube video of a couple of youths who slapped one guy, they picked the wrong guy, he was a boxer. I doubt they did it again.

I work on a daily basis with people who mostly have a long term addiction to either alcohol or drugs, I’m talking serious alcoholics, alcohol dependants in fact,

Oh, and I did know a female suffering PTSD after experiences in the forces (I don’t know what she experienced but it was in a hot and dusty place not so long ago) who turned to heroin for self-medication to deal with the demons. Last time I saw her she’d escaped it but for all I know she fell down again, could even be dead. Tell me, how should she be judged?

    A good reply Snapper,

However how do you differencitate between an alcoholic and alcohol dependent? Ie, what do you see as different between an alcoholic or alcohol depentent?

Having PTSD isn’t a reason to turn illegal drugs? Understandable, yes, but to turn to heroin doesn’t equate for me.

Although I accept the serious difficulties involved crime is bound to be reduced because pushing, extortion and racketeering will have been removed by its legality.
I can envisage a day when the lowest and cheapest classes of drugs are legalised.

But it can never be legal, in order to get the drugs you would have to deal with one of the cartels. That would be illegal so the said drugs would also be illegal.
Only way out is make the drugs here and that’s not going to happen.

Marijuana did get it’s class reduced a few years back only to get it reclassified back to where it was. I can’t see it becoming legal anytime soon.

    “Pushing, extortion and racketeering”
Selling drugs is like selling any commodity, supply and demand. Yes some dealers do push to get new customers, and turf wars do happen, but on the whole it’s supply and demand.

It’s never going to happen nor should it, bonkers idea.

Who would import it? That would involve dealing with an illegal source. Who would sell it? As CD points out overdoses, no-one would dare.

Would it reduce crime? Yes, if it was free, but I makes no difference buying from a street corner or a chemist money is still needed. Given the vast majority of addicts are unemployed they would still commit crime.

What’s the point in Google glasses anyway? Yet another pointless gadgit.

I do use a sat-nav, but only for the last bit of the journey. I have spent 20+ years driving all over the UK for work so I know my way to most places.

Only time I use a speed limiter AKA cruise control is through roadworks.
