    I understand where you are coming from my dear chap, due to the boundry changes in the ’70’s we had North, West and East Ridings extending almost as far as Kendal, see;

    As a Yorkie, it’s great to see the area receive the recognition it deserves. I wonder how the judges would feel if they saw York on a Saturday afternoon during the summer – full of Hen parties and drunk geordies.

    I have looked after a pub in York on the infamous ‘Micklegate run’ and lets say there was some interesting moments to say the least! Rough as a bear’s hariss, not just the summer either, the locals are worse than the visitors. But to be fair the rest of the centre is ok.

    I must admit I do have other favourate parts of the UK, Cumbria, Northumberland, Malvern hills, Derbyshire, Cheshire (great on a narrow boat), Snowdonia, Scotland, Zummerset, Devon. As a small island we are blessed.

    Interesting thinking to come up with the question, nice one.

    Feasibility wise yes it could be done but as a retro fit it would be too expensive, the retro fit would cost more than the a/c is worth.

    With a brand new light a/c again cost comes into it again, plus weight and complexity, service and spare part costs.
    The engine power of general a/c is not that high so wouldn’t be practical, as power goes up it’s better to go for 2 blades to 3 blades props, more blades on a prop is used to transmit the power into proformance, if it isn’t a huge power out put less blades are needed.
    As the old saying goes is KISS,
    ‘Keep it simple stupid’

    Not suggesting you are stupid but you have to think why they were never a success, or as some would argue limited success.

    One question Joe, is the survey about light aircraft singles such as Pipers and Cessnas etc? Just the survey is a bit general.

    I knew they were ferried with no ammo, but it seems thats all I knew:applause:

    I was always under the impression they didn’t go straight from factory to squadron. As I said before “you live and learn.”

    I always thought they went to a maintance unit first to have paint and guns and sights fitted, you live and learn.
