Just found this on the web, this website covers the history of Kermit’s Lanc, very interesting.

Stick with it Mike. If my maths are correct it’s 10 days between lessons, could be a factor on why you did better?
Lets hope the weather gods are kind in the months to come.

I doubt those notes will be worth one $US. In the morning 50 cents.

Baz, they mostly use a generic map but they can tweek it to give more torque and where in the the rev range the torque peaks. On my camper I had a rolling road custom map, most companies can do this but it costs about £100 extra, I had to have a custom map as I had modified injectors fitted. Went from 88bhp to 137.9:eagerness:

I have noticed a lot docs are now using Metric rather than Imperial.
These are UK programmes, have we converted to metric over night?
When they say it’s 450cm I take 5 minutes to work out what it is in real money, then I need to rewind the bliddy thing back!

    Ditto what René says.
Looks like Belgium or Northern France, due to the type of tile used on the roof.

Mike, I love this thread. So interesting.

I think you have answered your own question. I think you are thinking like to-days engineers rather than the ’40’s engineers.

    However keep the updates coming:)

Josh, don’t give up. Try general aviation first.
I stated that way looking after Pipers etc and then going onto Tiger Moths, Cubs.

Volunteer as much as you can, Sussex isn’t like it’s in the back of beyond.
I’m now volunteering at ARC in North Yorkshire, a bit more remote than Sussex:)

You can fit 4 x 500lb across the bomb bay as shown in Night Bombers here.
ie: the middle station holds 2 bombs.

What a great film, I have not seen this before, thank you for the link.

I didn’t know that some Lancs fitted 0.50cal in the rear turret as an ‘up grade’. Must have been bloody cold with the plexi glass cut out.
And the average of 40 hours before getting shot down, most Lancs didn’t have to have replacement engines fitted as they never had a chance to wear them out.

    Lest we forget.

I have had no problems with re-maps, I had my camper van done and the MPG went from low 30’s to about 40 and that’s around town!
Most companies offer different types of re-map, go for one that has the maximum torque, I did this and with the added torque I could go up the box at 1,800rpm just as the turbo was starting to spool up. Added bonus was it went like stink if I was in the mood, though have to say the MPG was worse that pre re-map if I did:)

I now have a motorhome and I have had that mapped, 15% better MPG and so much better to drive.

Trouble the anti-virus companies have is they cannot deal with a virus, tojan until it’s in the public domain. Until it has been identifed they can’t come up with a way of blocking or a cure for the virus, it’s not unusual for a virus/trojan to run rampent for a week or two. As said before the anti-virus companies are always playing catch up.
