Hi All,
So does this mean engine out and rebuild ?Geoff.
Maybe not a rebuild but it could be, engine out for sure. Checks will be made on the crankshaft, pistons and bores to see what damage has been done.
Don’t think I’m an expert, I’m not. The last prop strike (and the only one was about 1980ish) A prop hit the ground and bits went all over. The pilot did the right thing and cut the engine, however the a/c still wanted to self destruct ASAP.
I have to agree with AA, to taxi with a damaged prop made me wince as well.
At the end of the day it was an accident, he shut have the engine off and forget about the other a/c.
It was also an emergency, the pilot should have cut the engine, just for a saftey reasons. That lad who picked up the tip didn’t have to go far to pick up the tip!
BTW Beaufighter VI, thanks for the update.
I do hope engines are found and she can get back in the air. A very important type that’s a rare type if you get my gist.
Merlins!! Nooooo!!!!!
Rob, any more pics of the Beau please.
I need to get down to Duxford. The last time I got to Duxford the Beau didn’t look like an a/c.
Easy way to tell if a round has been fired is by the cap, if it has a mark on the cap it’s been fired.
The April issue of Flypast shows it going into a custom container.
The difficulty with a Mossie is getting it here – most of the other warbirds that have come to visit have come in a 40′ container.
Mossie would have to fly here, with all of the attendant risks involved.
That said, its been done – plenty of aircraft have flown the pond in the last few years!
Bruce
It went to the US in a specially made container, I doubt it would have been chopped up.

May be able to help. From what I have read FS2004 should work with Windows7.
My neighbour used dog walkers as on occasion neither he nor his wife would be at home for a full day, the dog walkers used to go around at lunchtime thus giving the dogs human contact.
I personally try not to leave my dog more than an hour or so if I can possibly avoid it. In the south of France summer is not the time to go shopping with the dog.
My beef as well, if you work full time don’t have a dog!!
Get a cat that will go and kill all the local wild life and birds. But that’s another subject.

Good that you have a decent instuctor, no hard shoulder at 1,000ft if you panic on your solo.
I have 20 hours logged and that’s over as many years, I can’t remember how to start how to start the thing let alone fly it safely;)
As after thought, my hours are logged, would these count towards a PPL? They shouldn’t but do they?
If they do only 25 before my PPL:stupid:
I would sooner walk!

Saab likes cannards so one from Beech, the Starship.
Engines seem recoverable but not much else. I stand to be corrected though. Is it upside-down as per the Dornier?
I have seen it in the background of a few photos in the Duxford thread. It’s looking very complete but dusty, so I guess it’s worked on as and when. I would like to see some more photos and update as well.
