Shame but not too surprising, the route doesn’t perform that well tbh, especially in comparison to the other regional routes.

    How about the following…..

    Oxford – Cambridge.

    Southampton – Isle of Man.

    Isle of Man – Edinburgh.

    Isle of Man – Cardiff.

Or has that already been tried?

    Regards,

    kev35

Loganair already have EDI-IOM covered. Personally I’d like to see a Middle Eastern link and Orlando from EDI, 2 glaring omissions from the current route network IMO.

Feel free to to correct me if im wrong but i believe that AB is not only ETOPs equiped but she is also the lightest aircraft in the 757 fleet which makes her the best suited to the LBA-EWR flight. Where as AJ which is known as “JET 2 NEW YORK” is the heavyiest 757 they own.

Again im going on past information so dont quote me on it.

Any Truth to the rumour that Jet2 are looking to get sell the Chinese 757s?

Depends what you mean by lightest. You’d want the aircraft with the highest GTOW for a route like this.

I believe they are now kitted out with leather seats throughout and 33″ seat pitch, or atleast the ones operating for Canadian Affair are. The fuselage narrows at the rear of the cabin so the config becomes 2-3-2 which IMO is much better than the 3-3-3 it is furthur forward.

what was the reason the main runway was out of action I wonder?

The main runway is getting re-surfaced and is closed Sunday night-Thursday night all summer.

    Thanks RIP…..

Seating configuartion on that aircraft….3 and 2 my lady friend was trying to tell me..would that be right on a 321?

Ah if it was 3-2 then it would have been one of their MD83/88 aircraft.

A friend recently flew with Onur Air from Edinburgh to Dalaman due to return to Edinburgh on June 26th at 20.40.
Plane went tech after take off from Dalaman and landed at Instanbul for an hour.
By the time they got back in the air the pilot said that they could not land at Edinburgh because the main runway was out of action. Im not sure what Onur fly but could the second runway not cope with a 737 or an airbus or whatever it was ?
Landed at Glasgow 3am..no buses available to take passengers back to Edinburgh…

Was this a justifiable excuse or was there another reason why they couldnt land at Edinburgh?

    Graham

Would probably have been an A321. While I’m sure it could have landed (assuming weather conditions were good enough), I doubt it would have been able to get out again with a full load back to DLM so that would no doubt have influenced the decision too.
