    Excellent shots.

Nice pics Robert. I guess you weren’t there early enough to capture the Continental 757 to (I think) Hamburg that diverted to EDI due to the toilets not working 😉

It was the CPH flight that diverted in, was gone by 0645 though so not many people up at that time to catch it I’d imagine, nice way to start your morning knowing you’ve got an aircraft overflowing with **** parked on the other side of the airport.;)

Cuase they dont want to be a failure like GSM they want to be a sucess and so far they have unlike GSM

I don’t think you’d could call an airline who has spent every year of it’s operating life in the black a “failure”. They have certainly made mistakes and the management could do with a good kick up the **** but for what they’ve done, particuarly in Scotland, they could never be called a failure. They’ve been a great success story in my books.

    Just an update

I start my Type Rating on the 24th September, I didn’t get the Exeter base that I was hoping 🙁 so I have to choose between Edinburgh, Glasgow & Belfast.
We have until Monday to decide, we have discounted Glasgow so it’s one of the other 2, whichever one can give my 2 daughters the better quality of life then that’s the one we’ll go for.
If anyone has any positives or negatives to say about Edinburgh or Belfast I’d be happy to hear them. 🙂

    Rgds

EDI. :p I can’t really fault Edinburgh for quality of life but it isn’t a cheap place to live, can’t comment on Belfast. Plus, since the company I work for will be handling BE from the end of the month we’ll look after you.:D If you need any more help on Edinburgh feel free to PM me.
The routes served are fairly similiar being mainly domestics. EDI does have more French regional routes but they are stopping for winter, however they’ve done well so I’d expect them to return next summer at an increased frequency maybe with more. BHD is the bigger base with 8 aircraft compared to EDI’s 5, whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing is down to personal preference.
At the end of the day it’s your decision, it’s easy for me to say EDI as I live here and if I was in your situation- and I wish I was- it would be EDI without a shadow of a doubt. Clearly your situation is different though so just let is know what you decide to go with.:)

Just had a quick look and only saw the one:

EMB120 started life with United Express (Westair) and is still active now with Skippers Aviation.

Didn’t know you’d been working at EDI! I’m working with Menzies there, we could have met up. Glad you enjoyed it…. hmm :p
I heard of a rather embarressing incident last week where Aviance only had one sole member of staff to meet one of the nightstoppers (not sure if it was a LHR?), so it just sat there for some considerable length of time with no one attending to it.

Well done, I’m currently doing the same job at EDI for a different handling agent. With your interest in aviation I’m sure you’ll enjoy it, it’ll give you a whole new perspective to the operation of an airline, as a passenger you really don’t appreciate how much effort it takes to get these flights in the air until you are doing the job. Furthurmore, everyday is different which I think is a big plus, and it keeps the job interesting.

Very cool, I must say I am a fan of overflight shots like that, something about them…
DL Habitat for Humanity livery B763 operated the EDI flight yesterday so that tells you what route that was doing, don’t know about any of the others though!

Wow I didn’t know this was due! 😮 🙁 Love the shot with the ‘follow me’ car, really gives a great sense of perspective.

The average load factor for May (granted in only started at the end of the month) was just over 30%… not exactly brilliant.

Excellents shots, especially that EZY A319 on finals. Centralwings are Polish and the Jet2 and Norwegian aircraft are actually B733s.:)
