The way I understood it was that Flyglobespan was origionally set up by the Dart Group / Channel Express and operated as Channel Express trading as Flyglobespan. That was before Flyglobespan went it’s own way.

They started with leased Channex aircraft, and still do use a couple, but they have never been owned by Dart Group, and they weren’t set up by them either.

No they were never started by anyone from the Dart group, they have always been an in-house airline for the tour operator Globespan, Tom Darymple is the man in charge of Globespan and Flyglobespan and he is also the guy who started it all.
G-CDRA is the reg of the new B736 that has just been delivered, and Flyglobepan don’t use TF-ELN anymore.

Hmmm BA have just cancelled my MAN-LDY Saab flight 😡

They are gonna ring me later apparently to sort out what they are going to do with me. I’m gonna try and get them to put me on MAN-GLA-LDY instead 😎

Atleast BA are gonna get you sorted, hopefully FR can manage to hold it together on the EDI route till atleast February, if they decide to change the times of either of the flights then no doubt it would work against me and not for me. 😉

1 The call centre that Alpha One Airways has contracted to take bookings on their behalf is now operational.

2 The IOM-EDI schedule is now available:

    Daily except Suns
    IOM d0815 – EDI a0900 – EDI d0930 – IOM a1015

    Daily except Sats
    IOM d1815 – EDI a1900 – EDI d1930 – IOM a2015

3 The return fare is GBP 112.40 (ie. GBP 72 plus taxes).

    Interesting, eh?

If they do get going I think a day trip to IOM will be needed, I will have to fly them! 😉 Bit pricey though. 😉

Does anybody know the current fleet of Globespan and what a/c are based at which airports?

Flyglobespan currently have 3 B738s, 3 B736s with one more to be delivered, and 2 B733s.

    GLA- 3 B738s, 1 B733s, 1 B736
EDI- 1 B736, 2 Channex B733s that Flyglobespan still use when required.
    STN- 1 B733

1 B736 is currently away getting a re-fit, and there is one more to arrive from SAS in January. They will also be receiving a B763 next year in time for the GLA-SFB flights, they have plans for a 2nd but I’m not sure what they are doing with that yet, and whether it’ll be in the fleet for next summer.

Oh yeah, I think I remember seeing this, I also remember that there was nothing posted that meant we should in any way believe it was true.

I’m sorry but am I the only one who doesn’t want to see a Manchester Rumours Thread? There already rampant on A.net and on Pprune – you watch they proabably be one for every airport in the UK eventually copying information of all other sites.

I agree, offical news? Yes, unoffical rumours? Nah.

Eastern will need to watch out. BE now have some attractive frequencies for business travellers

Eastern will also have to watch out for the fact that Flybe have increased EDI-NWI to 2x daily during the week from the 25th of May.

I’m 18, but most people insist on saying I look younger… :diablo: How am I paying? I’d rather not given it’s FR I’m flying, but a job/student loan means I have money to burn. 😉 On second thoughts, maybe I should pretend that student loan doesn’t exist. 😉

Yes I know it’s not fake, but there’s an annoying habit of whenever a unique pic is posted people think it is actually a fake instead of giving the photographer the credit he deserves, although this pic was taken by Sam Chui so it’s not too bad to not give any credit to him. 😉
