I’d happily pay £34 that’s very cheap in my book for EDI-CWL. £3 would just be stupid. 😉
I presume tax still has to be added, what does it come to with tax? They are supposed to be a loco, so cheap flights like this should crop up all the time, especially with flights that have just been annouced and few people have booked on them. They are selling EDI-BHX for 99p each way + tax just now.
Sticking with EDI-BHX for a sec, Flybe are doing free flights with only tax added, just a shame the tax is £20 each way! :rolleyes: Not sure how much bmibaby add on for tax…
Wooo! 😀
Fantastic for BHX, some needed expansion for Eastern Europe
NE231
Depart Birmingham 08:10
Arrive Krakow 11:50
So BHX gets sensible times for the flights then. 😉
I am not familiar with CO’s UK diversion policy but it will be a combination of:
* Where is forecast to be above limits
* Crew base to allow the return flight to operate
* Ground base to allow the flight to be handled relatively easily
* Airborne en-route and holding fuel requirements
* Operational slot availability
* etc, etc as I said aboveIt could be anything including [for example] DUB might be marginal or below limits, MAN might not have terminal/gate/ground handling capacity, GLA has no 757 qualified crews available, no operational slots available at LGW, the only crews at BHX were needed for their own flights, etc, etc, etc.
Bottom line, airline dispatchers will select the most convenient nominated diversion based on a variety of considerations both operational and commercial. Even then, if the planned alternates are not viable on the day, the operating crew will make a definitive decision as the flight progresses.

Ok thanks for that, it just seems strange that EDI was first suitable alternative that they used. I think EDI’s own flight had left quite a while before the SNN flight arrived.
Ok then, so who can explain CO’s SNN flight diverting to EDI today then? :confused:
[QUOTE=Manston Airport]
I’ve just booked holidays online for May and it looks as though I’m flying to Tenerife on Flyjet (why oh why oh why). QUOTE]
Why whats wrong with FLYjet?

They were dreadful when I flew them, although that was 2003 and I think that could have been their first year of existence…
Never mind the A380, look at that fog! 😮 😉
It’s nothing to do with being tight, just common sense. Especially when it comes to short haul flying. I’d be more willing to pay more for a long haul flight depending on the circumstances.
IMHO BA is a much better airline, LCCs are indeed for the traveller who is tight to be really honest
LOL! Way to go to gain some peace. Are you calling me tight?! 😡 Ok, so you may have a point, but still…. 😉 Why would you use BA or whoever over a loco, because you aren’t paying? :rolleyes:
Lets hope that either Jet2 or FlyGlobespan announce 2x daily AMS, so you can come next February!
Indeed!
What superb news for Newcastle, would imagine we will be seeing EDI expansion from Jet2 next!
Some good routes for NCL there.
Yes, I would love a 2x daily AMS from EDI too! Don’t think it’ll happen though. Apparently GSM are going to go expansion mad tomorrow from EDI and GLA, but the guy I heard that from is usually wrong… 😉 I do wonder if GSM’s actions at EDI are delaying an annoucement from Jet2 though.
A few of the sketches are quite funny.
A few of the sketches are quite funny.
Yes, because there are so many free slots available for that to happen! 😀 This can only be excellent news for the regions now the market is completely open. Lufthansa 747s at Birmingham anyone? 😉
That’s why there will be a fight. 😉
Oh no, that could spell an end to all this much needed regional expansion if all the airlines can fight to get into LHR!
