Nice find, will be interesting to see what happens in the future! I’m sure it would be beneficial to EDI to have FR set up a base, you just have to look at what FR have done to the passenger numbers at STN, PIK and LTN etc. LTN inparticular looks like it could overtake EDI, GLA and BHX within the next year or two at current growth rates.

Think what the same discounts would do to the airline scene At GLA/EDI! You’d have FR/EZY routes to wherever you wanted to fly to from both.

Incidentally,have you checked out the future bases on FR’s website? They don’t name them,but are just dots on a map. There’s one right where EDI is! Interesting things to come,maybe.

There was an article not too long ago stating that FR want to base at EDI, but BAA are the stumbling block, obviously can’t do for EDI what they’ve agreed to do at STN! I’ll try and find the link.

You can thank FR for that at STN, I don’t think BAA want STN to be that cheap, but I feel they are being taking for a ride by FR which will be bringing that average down. Ignore STN and the charges are largely the same, although LGW is that bit cheaper.

My flights outbound are AA101/117/267 (LHR-JFK-LAX-HNL),

and inbound AA162/30/142 (HNL-LAX-JFK-LHR). Inbound is leaving on the 6th April, landing back at LHR on the 7th. Incase anyone is around at any airport to grab a photo of me.

I’m off now to pack, so have a good couple of weeks and I’ll update you if I run into an internet cafe or something. 😀

First B744, I’m not liking this, and what makes it worse is that this B744 was previously in the ‘Royal Barge’ scheme apparently.
