Yes: it was part of the panel over the looker’s plot above the fresnel lens display of the radar
Best picture I could find (XM328 a HAS3)
Hi Smirky are you looking for anything in particular.
The trim wheel Ref. No is 26FC / 5306 part No. 13ce 291 if you can find any part No.s on it to identify it
Yes, that’s the one.:)
Looking for wessex helicopter bits, Honeywell radalts for a HAS1, eyebrow light push in peaked cap lampholders
MKIX ASI (any non-luminous type, only need case), 5c/540 push button, air vent for a Bristol Brigand:eagerness:
I think I have a Sea Venom elevator wheel …
That’s a back seat piece of kit: the looker (observer) would dial up the range and bearing of the gate to the next dip position, which would be shown in the centre of the pilots compass. Great aid for the drivers, but sadly dropped in the Sea King HAS1.
:)Thanks John, suspected that.
So I am looking for a picture of the crate in the back?
Yes, thanks Tony, see attached for slightly different version.
The general problem is finding pictures of in-service equipment (which may well have been Secret) from a period when the internet and digital cameras were not as popular as today.
Gotcha! Thanks Tony. 🙂
What about this one? it seems similar in function to two more complex boxes in the HAS1 centre console.
Part number 6T/3625 WB5 82-950
Authentic corrosion and labelled PORT STBD and ARMING PLUG.
Part number 1/B2B-81-50, inspection stamp GAF.
Could this be for the Wessex HAS1? Has anyone got a picture of where it fits?
A bit of history now, removed from XP142 Humphrey “scrapped aircraft!” a HAS3 a matter of days before it was taken to FAAM.
There isn’t one on these fitted to the HAS3 at Hurn so where does it fit? – and what has poor old Humphrey got fitted now?
Yes a good number of buyers and sellers.
Special thanks to Howard for his help with a Wessex question.
What about closing this thread, not until Friday but until Monday as a mark of respect for the victims of this disaster?
I so agree jag636. Withams are looking for £65,000 min for this a/c yet MoD sold one direct for £5,000 less than 2 years ago in similar if not better condition, then changed the rules and now only sell via this agent..
How much?:highly_amused:
That is a ridiculous price, I can’t see it going much beyond the current £24k +VAT – unless that woman wants to gut it, spray it silver and hang it from the ceiling.
As they are planning to scrap the F16 fleet

Yes, perhaps they will make some into commemorative paper clips.;)
this might be interesting, maps from 1945 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201787979186
