Yes ian, the dash panel edges are hidden behind the cockpit side panels which I have no current plan to make so I suppose it doesn’t really matter. The dash panels slope backwards so would not screw directly to the frame of the fuselage and at a guess would be a relatively crude shape. A further complication is that my aft frame piece is vertical whereas in real life the front of the cockpit opening you can see in the photos slopes considerably and the section also tapers – I think I will have to redo this piece in due course but it had got to the stage where the only way to check it was to actually make something.:D

A bit of visual progress ….
The side panels are tilted back at about 20ΒΊ. This has all been done from photos and the instrument dimensions, it looks about right to me but any suggestions or comments are very welcome before I cut anything!

What do the RAF have to do with it?
Nothing directly – I was drawing a comparison of these events with my understanding of the RAF regime for display flying.
Not being an expert (nor for that matter a particular fan of the Elf an Safety industry) I was shocked to read that the display routine was apparently not fixed and approved beforehand.
This seems to fall far short of the standards applied by the RAF.
The issue with it now, is that it is representative of only its civil flying career. Most of its operational systems – ie, Navigation and bombing, have been removed.
That may not matter much of course!
I thought they always said that these parts would be reinstated in due course – that should take some assistance.
However this would be a major underhaul and does probably conflict with keeping it as taxiable as possible which I suppose distingishes it from the other authentic but dead Vulcans.
The electrical panel is off the front of the T1154 transmitter as fitted to the Lancaster.
Does anybody know what types a Smiths/Kelvin Hughes RPM gauge No. 6A/4989 was used in please?
12,000 RPM so thinking Avon, Hunter, Canberra. Looks very similar to a 6A/2801 except with slightly fewer white dial markings.
The ones with the fins look like radio/radar transmitter valves.

It would make a nice cockpit with enough left over to make a garden building!
