Yes, I think the Lancaster ones should have 20 ribs not 16 (AS102).
The 16 rib AS101 ones are Meteor? and probably others as well.
(I’ve got a 6 inch wheel with a notch which I think is Jet Provost – they are quite common.)
The Lancaster DF is not a remote control but a dirty great wheel on the bottom of the antenna.
Yeah, put me down for 25 of these as well. 😀
Why do people nick these off panels and where do they all go?
Can anyone tell me if the small panel highlighted in red is screwed on or riveted on. I believe it is screwed but could be wrong and can’t find any ref to it, a close up photo would be great. This is for my Lincoln panel build. The photo belongs to the FM104 Restoration project.
Thanks Paul
Pretty sure it is riveted. I’ll have a look on my PC later as I have a picture showing this area. I had it in mind to do a similar thing and got as far as getting the flat front screens made from 6mm perspex but no further.
Smirky, sorry for my careless mistake, but why are you so sure that it’s not worth contacting
the Institution?
Only because it sounded to me that what was required was a machinist, whilst they are often referred to as engineers (as indeed are may other people) I don’t think there will be much overlap with the IMechE. In any case I don’t think they would be naming names.
As a humble electrical engineer I may be wrong …..
And before it all kicks off I mean no disrespect to machinists – I know who I would rather have machining my castings!
Is it worth contacting the Institute of Mechanical Engineers?
Institution!
(and no)
Top Guns’ BBC’s Pants Rant
😀
Are you going down the laser cut route?
Not sure, but some of it is bound to be wrong so I am thinking of doing a first model in 2mm thickness with a power nibbler.
New Project …
Bristol Brigand – has anyone done this before?
Does this help any? Obviously if this was more readable you could dig further.
I wouldn’t let this hold up your project, you are not going to wire it up (or are you?) so connectors that look about right should do the job. I think the wiring diagram for the whole aircraft is in the AP for the Mk II which is widely available and this will indicate the size of the cables.
Out of interest would they be worth that much even if genuine?
had a couple of these but can confirm that all the rubbish I have posted is my own 😀
Who on Earth is going to pay 50 grand for it ?
I agree, I have purchased from him and as far as I remember he refunded me excess postage!
Oh Dear!
