would look nice on top of an instrument panel project
I see it’s not listed now and the seller got a bit arsey when it was pointed out that it wasn’t Battle of Britain
He took it quite personally for someone who was “listing on behalf of a friend” 😀
Do the BBMF know about this? 🙂
Looks like a well battered set of odds and sods -from different MkX aircraft judging by the stencilling.
Post twelve, some of the ASR boats had marinised merlins(lion?)so why would they not have ign switches, equaly safe at sea with twin mags!!
I was wrong then.
Would it be from an ASR boat?
Not with twin magnetos I would think. What about those funny sofa-shaped cutouts at the top – what fits in there?
congratulations – it turns out to be an iconic piece!
Hmm, doesn’t look much like this one

I was guessing at Bristol freighter but couldn’t find a picture to check.
Who would put the radios next to the mag. switches?
No.3 is possible from a Wessex!
I agree, Chocktaw variant, the shape of the corners looks exactly like the Wessex.
3 is helicopter – a big one. Don’t know about the other two.
Vulcan Seat has a lot of watchers but no mention here so far
Nice -but evidently not worth 800 quid on greEdbay!
well the attribution has been used on another part – and that was a fake

As you say, general purpose. These appear in immediate post-war types (Lincoln and Brigand are two random examples). The Lancaster ones were like a little square block with a tiny crank handle
Spitfirespares is good -just divide by three.
I think the auction will go for more than the estimate!
