Looks like GPI MK1B, there would have been a name plate on the right hand end.
There is about a x3 weight penalty for the ammunition alone, plus the additional weight of the gun.
I make it 38 pounds pull
This is an early model of 1155 so I woud suppose early war date (big serial number though), too early for the Lancaster and usually associated with Halifax. Looks like an EK Cole inspection stamp on the front?
Yep, it’s a rangefinder. Hold at arm’s length (unless you are a gibbon:eek:). Choice of four scales depending on target size which is a combination of wingspan and visual aspect.
I had it mind to make a nice plastic one with a moving pointer so you could take the measurement first, then decide what it was and do the range calculation afterwards with a built-in slide-rule thingy. Bit like the US one 🙂
Yes absolutely. Bit confusing whether the items actually belong to the seller or will be purchased from the MoD on the buyer’s behalf. From my viewpoint hard to see how some of the items could possibly sell for even a fraction of the asking price.
check out the BFH rash on the blade end gear! 😀
yep, that’s it, try “3 inch breeches buoy rocket” in Google. The markings look pretty unhelfulpful – everything except what it is called
patience grasshopper 😉
lh one reminds me of Wessex, rh one almost certainly ground test equipment
Totally agree about a lot of this stuff simply being ripped off the internet and resold without any added value. A lot of ‘books’ that are being advertised by online booksellers fall into this category and are described as such. If this bothers you then do not buy them.
However this is simply paid research which is a service that has existed for years. Furthermore, we should steer well clear of terms like ‘scam’ for legal reasons. 😮
ALso check out the other goodies for sale including the rare wind tunnel model from “Pina Muda”, the “Lancaster” panel and the “prisoner of war made” electrical project.
Quite fancied the bicycle though, but it does need some pedals.
😀
Excellent and thought-provoking video, thanks for posting.
Chucking the radium instruments into drums in a way that could have shattered the glass and released more contamination didn’t look too clever.
The comment about the forklift needs to considered in the context of the amount of protective gear everyone was wearing to avoid ingestion of radioactive material 😮
That was the inference I took from the listing too, as all other weapons listed seem to have proof details – However, as firearms specialists they should know better, as documentary evidence of suitable inspection is still required for ALL relic firearms for them to be considered as outside the terms of the Firearms Act – i.e. deactivated.
Not really, see Firearms Law Guidance to the Police 2002 s2.16 :p
Holts who are firearms specialists consider it to be deactivated (possibly on account of condition) as they have listed it under the deactivated section in their catalogue.
