I bought them, tried hard to stick to Lancaster bits but couldn’t resist and walked out as the proud owner of an airframe 🙂
I recognized the same pride in others carting off a Vampire gun fairing and two Tornado canopy transparencies.

It turned out that the dual GGS amplifiers on their crate that fits on the nose compartment bulkhead were also included – if anyone has a Vampire T11 project missing these I will be happy to move them on 😉

Yes, spot on. See “The Scott Report”, although in this case the UK government didn’t come out of it well.

“France was legitimately fulfilling a contract to a foreign customer”

    no no no no no
The French Government had imposed an embargo there was nothing legitimate about it, read the BBC article; even the French Secret Service thought it was out of order. The difference is that if they were British they would have gone to gaol.

“BTW: any US personnel would have likely been a manufacturer’s technical rep, they’re usually civilians, not military personnel.”
There is some misunderstanding here, civilians are under no less a duty to uphold their country’s defence policy than armed forces personnel and countries are under no less a duty to control behaviour of their civilians than that of their amed forces.

“Dassault had a responsibility to honor its contract…”

no, deffo not if there was an embargo. Their first responsibility was to the French Government.

    Thanks Stan!

I want to replace some marked with an S.

It’s only for static and I don’t suppose it matters that much – just wanted to get it right  so i started to swot up in the internet to see what sort to buy and found the new codes and the various American dimple codes but no reference to the old school letters.

Bingo! found it online here http://www.scribd.com/doc/35948339/CAIP-Part-I

    case closed 🙂
