The compass serial number is marked on the top bezel, but as Bruce says ….:rolleyes:
Is it a chopped barrel or a proper 2″ barrel screwed-in? Are there any markings on the barrel that might indicate that it is original?
Looks standard and pretty much the same set is still available. Quite likely to have been used in aero though, are there any engraved property markings that might give a clue?
