That was a nice Clip of the Kh-35 missile.

Correct me if iam wrong. Indian Navy Il-38 was even been fitted with Sea-Eagle Missiles right?. Right now Il-38 uses Kh-55 but later it gonna be replaced another Air-Breathing Monster Brahmos-A

Il-38 Model with Brahmos Air Launched Version (Makes more sense than three Brahmos on a Sukhoi-30MKI)

Right now Uran Missiles are Equipped with IN Tu-142, Il-38 and Delhi Class Destroyers, Whereas in futher they will be fitted with IN MiG-29K.

There is another Jointly Develop Maitri Quick Reaction Missile by DRDO and MBDA. Completly Confused with this Maitri Missile Development.
DRDO, MBDA to Jointly Develop Maitri Quick Reaction Missile

Why the Armed Forces are going for another Joint-Development Missile for?
From One side we had Already have got together with Israel to develop a long range missile called Barak-II and we funding for it. now another project is started.

I can realize the Importance of Indian Navy for having a Long Range Missiles. The Navy wants three tier Missile system which make any big ship defense impregnable against AAW outermost tier and Navy had signed the Barak-II so why do we need another One called “Maitri”.

Both the “Barak-II” and “Maitri” are looking for the same with same Capabilities. Both Missiles are Long range, low-level, quick-reaction missiles.

Same goes to the Radars of Maitri and Barak-II “EL/M-2248 radar” have the same Capabilities

Has the Topic is also about Awacs,

Tell me something, What is Difference between an AWACS and AEW?.

Like example do AWACS like the Phalcons have a longer range and AEW Erieye?

As far as I could research, AEWCS is less versatile & less costlier than AWACS. Thus an AEWCS lacks processing of data onboard.

Can anyone plz give a Nice Detail Explanation.

    JV with South Korea??

S Korea, India seek joint production of weapons

SEOUL, March 20 (Xinhua) — South Korea and India on Tuesday launched their first defense committee meeting in Seoul to discuss issues including joint production of military equipment in India.

According to the Korea Herald, South Korea will propose joint projects with India to build a range of arms and equipment, including 5,000-ton class convoy escort vessels, armored vehicles and K-9 self-propelled guns, during the five-day meeting.

In a statement by South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) on Tuesday, the South Korean Defense Ministry said the two sides will sign a memorandum of understanding for guaranteeing the quality of their defense products and will discuss establishing a system to promote cooperation in defense technology.

Officials of the DAPA told local media that South Korea needs active and multifaceted export strategies to attract India because the country is a rising military power that has great potential to influence the global defense market, adding that India has showed a keen interest in Korea’s ship-building technology.

Lee Sun-hee, commissioner of the DAPA, will head the South Korean delegation in the meeting, while the Indian delegation will be led by K.P. Singh, secretary for defense production at the Indian Defense Ministry.

Btw, Dont think that Viraat is gonna be decommisioned Quickly.

Latest news is that the Indian Navy had decided to maintain the Carrier Operational till 2012-2014.

The Navy hopes to have two fully-operational “carrier battle groups” till the year 2008 which of the battle groups will be centred around INS Viraat, the other will be led by INS Vikramaditya, when the Gorskhov also enters the IN Fleet.
Not to Forget, The Main reason why the Navy wants the Viraat to be Operational till further 2012 because of the need of “Three Carrier Battle Groups” Blue Water Navy Dream. In 2012 The 40,000-tonne indigenous aircraft carrier, being built at Cochin Shipyard will also become fully operational.

The Navy keep on shouting for a 3 Carriers Group Fleet and its must for us to get that Mark.

Thatz Cool. Iam so Glad that IAF is having a lot more Exercises, especially from the “Top Guns”.
The Indian Airforce need a lot of training with the AWACS systems to form their Tactics well and be prepared. This is a Age of BVR and need to prepare well with that and to be prepared the IAF had to have a lot of Exercises with many other airforces who fought BVR Combat.

Singapore,Britan, France & Americans are having regular excercises with IAF.
Other Countires like SouthAfrica, Russia had some Exercises with India.
But Big Question is Why in the hell, Did till now, we didn’t do even once excercise with our another Ally & an expert airforce Israel?

Anyway, Coming back to the Topic. I really Doubt over this. Will India really gonna kept the Sukhoi-30MKI version or the MKversion?
IAF did not decide which fighter to send.It would Su-30MK or Mirage 2000 or MKI.

In Cope India we Didn’t Kept our Top of the Line Aircraft “MKI” in the First “Cope India” against the USAF because the IAF was still Exploring its Capabilities and make some Perfect tactics, doctrine for Start.
Then we Kept the Sukhoi-30MKI for Foreign Exercises and they Participated in Indo-England and Indo-French Exercises. Now the IAF is gonna kept their MKI Aircraft to Challenge the Euro-Typoon in the Next Air-Exercise in England and not the Indo-French Garuda-IV Exercise against Rafale.

But, Sukhoi-30MKI Challenging Raptor is Complete Different Story. The MKI Pilot will wont even have any idea who shot in the first place.
Being a Big Fan of IAF and Flankers I Hate to say this but, My money is on Raptor for sure:D 😀

In the last Red Flag Exercises the IAF had send Jaguars. The IndianAirforce had won widespread kudos from other Countires during the Exercises.
After the Exercises a farewell party hosted by the Indian team for the other Air Forces, numerous officers from other countries expressed their admiration for the hospitable Indian attitude. En route at North Bay, the Indian Air Force also found itself on the front pages of the local newspapers.

There is an Excellent Article with pictures of Indian Airforce Travelling to Alaska and Performance.
