Got to agree with Keltic, there are signs that Russia is slowly getting back on its feet. As the Tortoise said “I may be slow but I get there in the end”:D .

We have to remember Russia has always been a poor nation even in the hands of the Soviets, comparing it to economies such as the US is like comparing a 747 to Concorde, the 747 is less elegant and is for the more moderate spender but is rugged and can be fixed more easily providing the time and effort is put in.

Don’t u have a mag called “Combat Aircraft Illustrated” in the states? Lately this has been far more interesting than AFM despite publishing some late updates. I have a copy which has a great report on the current fighters of the Russian Air Force with some good snaps too, worth a look. 🙂

Why isn’t Russia in any position to exploit any of China’s weakness’s?

I know Russia still has economic problems and security issues in Checnya and places ending in ‘stan – but Russia still wields an impressive sword!

Don’t forget Russia has been fighting guerilla wars in the past twenty years and not open wars which its forces are equipped for, Russias dismal record against the Chechens has stained a rather effective force meant to fight against other armies such as that of China where T-80Us would face off against mainly poor copies of the T-55.

Despite the fact that China has “X” amount of Type 98s in service and some T-80s – the main force still consists of obsolete tanks and AFV’s.

Plus take into account Russia has now got years of experience in “unconvientional warfare” from Afghanistan and Chechnya to exploit – whereas China has been in a couple of scuffles with the Vietnamese over the Spratleys and minor fighting against muslim insurgents from the ‘stan countries to the North West.

I know pay will enter into this somewhere along the lines but consider this – Chinese regular troops are poorly trained, underpaid, lack motivation and are equipped with poor equipment. Russian troops are underpaid and poorly equipped in certain areas but have years of experience and a devotion to service when they are fighting in defence of their homeland.

A lot of troops on both sides would probably desert, but equipment would be the deciding factor and this is where Russia has a slight upper hand. 🙂

    European Computer Drivers Licence

Its my ticket to the world of web-page and graphic design: basically its a more advanced C.L.A.I.T. qualification. My current 12 month course is as follows:

C.L.A.I.T. Level 1 – basics of electronic communication, graphic design, database management etc. (2-3 months)

C.L.A.I.T. Level 2 – intermediate of the above. (3-4 months)

E.C.D.L. – slightly more advanced course concentrating on ur choice of subject (eg. graphic design, web-design, programme design etc.). (4-6 months)

A must for anyone wanting a career in the creation of web-sites or basically anything connected to the internet.
