Geez, what I meant was would the Zero have been able to take the FW190 in a dogfight or did the Me109 have the edge over whatever Jap’ fighters it would have met?

Very nice, are the Thundercats some sort of elite squadron? They seem to be the topic of many articles on the BAF.

I had a PS2, it was okay but not many good titles out. Lots of cheap rubbish. Flight Sim’s like Air Combat were okay and Ghost Recon’, Tau Fire Warrior, GT3, Metal Gear Sons of Liberty and Conflict Zone were decent enough. However most were poor and repetitive. The PS2 probably has 20-30 football games out, I mean c’mon how much variety can there be in kicking a ball up and down a field?

XBox is again okay but not many games out and quite expensive for each one. Halo os quite addictive.

Look I’m not trying to say we should sit back and play the blame game. Simple fact of the matter is we pay council tax so that the council has the money to better prepare for this kind of weather. If you are saying it is up to us to deal with it then why not say the same about crime (ie. why blame the police for not catching criminals when most of us can take the law into are own hands)?
I pay my taxes under the belief that some of the money can go toward gritters and more ambulances and not on waste of money projects like the Birmingham Eye. 😡

I tend to agree with Darth on this, Russia has been through some tough times before and has pulled through in time.
I can’t see any real improvement for at least another decade though. Putin seems a good man who will keep trying to do his best for the Armed Forces, but he is also a realist who knows that it won’t happen overnight.
Priority lies with the Air Force at this time, but we shouldn’t forget that Russia is still engaged in Chechnya and has operations in various former Soviet Republics that need to be funded. The army is doing pretty well with plans to create a professional army by 2007-08 and has been recieving BMP-3. BTR-90, Tunguska mobile AAA and T-80U tanks as well as aircraft. Pay has also increased and the conscripts are being paid regularly for the most part now.
The Navy is less of a priority but has still recieved new equipment in the form of new minesweepers, fast attack vessels, frigates and has plans to put the first of a new class of both SSN and SSBN to sea this year.
Aircraft are nice and everything but we shouldn’t forget that there are more things that Armed Forces services need to fight than just planes and helicopters, and these cost money too. 🙂

Why is it that the Delta Dagger and Dart never got the medias attention like the F-4, I have hardly seen any books on these aircraft.
Were they considered flops by the USAF or is it just a lack of combat stories to tell?
