Love the picture of Sally B firing up from under the wing of the B-29
Pete Kinsey also flew Spitfire Mkla AR213 later in the afternoon
The strong winds from the west almost directly down the runway made for some interesting taxying shots of the Spitfires operating.
It is still outside today , The word is that it will be out for about a week, they still have a lot of planes to remove from the AAM yet.
Does anybody know if the B.29 will still be outside on the jet pan on monday because i will get down there if it is….great shots by the way i travelled down from Stoke to see this take off from RAF Mildenhall when it was going to Duxford which then meant a nite stop in a lay-by in my dads converted camper van and the master cylinder went but we managed to limp home after we filed a 10 pence piece down to fit its all on the old cine film then converted to video then onto disc ‘them were the days’
A thread for North Weald is long overdue, that’s for setting it up.

Any of you wonderfull DX Paps get a shot of the Blue Harvard G-BUKY flying today?
A freind of mine was flying her, would love to see a picture.
Many thanks Wayne
Just spoke to the operator at Duxford and was told Duxford still closed and is being assessed at the moment with an announcement being made later today.

Hi, The IWM site still says that it will be closed until Jan 6th and reassessed, does anyone know if it is open today.
Excellent, thank you Brian

If the Diary doesn’t return then Duxford Bimble will be in this section.
Brian
I completely agree, having to work all week and sometimes at weekends the thread was indispensable , lets hope it come back soon.
DCWs contributions will be sorely missed by me. His Duxford threads have been a daily read of mine for years, and I’ve always greatly appreciated the effort he’s gone to, as I’m sure most here do.
Brian, can I ask where you will be posting the images
I think you will find this is a Seafire Mk.Ib, which is a navalised version of the Spitfire MkVB, I believe the Mk.IIc had a four bladed prop
Princess Elizabeth ?
G-AGTO on Sunday evening
It appears that the DAS aircraft are not the only ones celebrating a birthday this week at Duxford, Auster Autocrat G-AGTO also celebrated on Sunday 16th of December with a flight very late in the day in poor light, it turns out that it had it’s first flight on the 16th of December 1946, making it not only one of Duxford’s oldest residents but also 66 years young.
