Mirage 2000BR/-9 integrates information superiority systems from the Rafale like the ELINT capable ICMS Mk-3 and the EMTI
and the RDY-2 radar kicks ass
it is actually the best of the best MK2 models

retire in a near future ?
well, I can tell you than the French AF would still have in 2015 at least 160 Mirage 2000, including 30 Mirage 2000-5F

that’s right, and at this time this title was of usage and frequent for the successions “more danico”
but thats’ incomplete and not the good version
he was better known under his successive names as Guillaume le Bâtard, then Guillaume II de Normandie, then Guillaume le Conquérant and then Guillaume Ier, roi d’Angleterre 😎
yes, it must be die Grande Nation pro-EU nationalistic syndrome then 😀
stated on ACIG :
“While disengaging, both FAE Mirages have got warnings on their RWRs that they were tracked by Peruvian Mirage 2000Ps, thus they distanced away“
so …
wasn’t it this event, where one Peruvian Su-22 and an AT-37, or conceivably two Su-22, were shot down with Magic II of two Ecuadorian Mirage F.1, themselves tracked then while desengaging by Peruvian Mirage 2000 ?
well, it seems Dassault didn’t make advertising and noise about it, and it is comprehensible
quite interesting story though

Other a/c ‘may’ have done a cobra – but what we now call a Cobra was first performed to the western public in a MiG-29 at a Paris Airshow (I forget which year ?).

Ken
1989
the Cobra manœuvre was officially shown for the first time to the public at the Salon du Bourget 89 in a Su-27
I found some figures here, dunno if it’s 100% correct :
“The Su-27 made its formal introduction to the West at the 1989 Paris Air Show, when Viktor Pugachev ran the aircraft through the now-famous “Cobra” maneuver, lifting the fighter to an angle of attack of over 90 degrees to its line of flight, causing abrupt deceleration until it nosed back down. The Cobra maneuver was apparently invented by another Sukhoi test pilot, Valerii Menitsky, as a flight-test exercise, but it became associated with Pugachev, it seems with his encouragement, and is also often called the “Pugachev maneuver” or “Pugachev Cobra”. “

maybe some fellow Russian members here could tell us more on Valerii Menitsky…
