It would be impolite of me to not remind you that it is the CCP that insists on limiting information to its own people. But I digress, you may return to your world where everyone is out to limit the power of the Chinese because everyone is paranoid of it…

Gotta stifle the future. . .

The Chinese accomplished that very well on themselves, no need for anyone else on that account.

It’s the level of performance that’s important, not necessarily the level of technology. If the Zhuks can offer significant better performance and other qualities than the Bars-29, then it might be worthwhile. Else, why the Zhuks and not the Bars, or vice versa. If the Zhuk-A can offer performance equivalent to the Bars-MKI, then we’re talking…

Here’s what LM’s line of thinking is likely to produce with a FB-22 in the background poster…

Even if Dassault doesn’t “win” the MRCA, it still has an upcoming program to upgrade the existing M2Ks in IAF’s inventory to basically M2K-5 standards.

Also, Russians (MiG) will also get their pound of flesh via the Mig-29 upg program. The Mig-29 upg is going to be modeled after the Mig-21 Bison upg. Where MiG is the prime contractor and it subcontracts out equipment to Indian, Russian, French, and Israeli companies.

If one is really interested, one can get the proceedings from the first event. That would pretty much resolve the 920 number.

Added later: One can deduce from the level of interaction between CII and HAL, that CII is not just a run of the mill non-governmental and non-profit org. It’s a very well connected and influencial org.

It might be worth while to look at the JAXA NEXST-1 as a starting point for this type of platform. Although NEXST-1 is only specd out to M2, the payload it is supposed to carry is large for a M2 vehicle.

Plus, the C-5 isn’t exactly the most…er…”reliable” platform, is it 😀

Why do you say that? From experience?

Also, KC-747 was rejected the first time around by the USAF, what will change their mind?… Aside from a higher price tag, much more complicated avionics package, possible kickbacks, etc? 😀

Getting the cargo out is easy. Give it an An-124 style nose, and include a retractable cargo ramp. Problem solved!

Why not just use the Galaxy as a combi cargo-fuel carrier? MUCH less effort in the redesign.

How would one get the cargo in and out of the second deck cargo space? There’s also cargo space in the cargo deck (1st deck). There’s no way you’re gonna get a Stryker to go in there 😀

The USAF employs boom refueling. That kind of mod is more difficult if not impossible with USAF assets. A boom and a fully functioning rear cargo door can’t coexist peacefully.

In any case, CASA seems to be very reluctant to fulfil the Venezuelan order now. I am sure the fact that the same CASA planes are in the running for the FCA program might have something to do with it. 😉 BTW, the FCA program is about 10 times bigger than the Venezuealan one.

So, this system isn’t necessarily a quieting mechanism, it’s more of a way to mask the exact signature of the boat. So that the ship class/name isn’t given away by the noise. Is that correct? I would assume that all those bubble breaking the surface would produce a lot of sound and in the process mask the machinery sound of the ship. In essence an acoustic version of ECM?

only someone with a mental deficiency cant see the possible interpretations of his own words.

You’re right, I didn’t take into account the idiots out there that can misinterpret my clear and concise comments.

ah yes, the time old indian ‘comeback’ of asking for things they know are classified and cant be conclusively proven. guess just because china does not list the likes of the J10, WZ10, yuan ssk, 93 SSN, 94 SSBN they dont exist as well.

Yes they exist all right. But what are their capabilities? Can we even state that to a rough order of magnitude? Probably not. But if someone questions their capability or effectiveness, then immediately “scarce and confusing” “internet sources” will be brought out along with some funky logic gymnastics to “prove” those “scarce and confusing” “internet sources”.

there are plenty of internet sources stating 200~300 hours per year for class A PLAAF pilots and none stating 100 since donkies years ago, but people like you would just claim that they are not reliable. btw, what offical source did your ‘100 hours’ figure come from?

the fact of the matter is that facts about the PLA are scarce and confusing because they are meant to be. dont like it? dont discuss the PLA, no-one is putting a gun to your head.

Where would Chinese aviation be without “internet sources”? 😉
