Allow me…Circular Error Probable (CEP)
A measure of missile accuracy. A missile’s CEP is the radius of a circle around the target in which 50% of the warheads aimed at that target will land.
LOL
Thank you professor. When will the quiz be? LMAO!
SOC, exactly.
Assets like these are only meant for that type of role. It could carry anti-tank munitions but not likely.
According to ISPR, the missile has a 2,700km range.
A $1.63 billion contract is being held up by $50 million dispute. Wow, devil is in the details
Yeah, some of the R-73 batches are old. And “old” doesn’t necessarily mean old in the sense of time but could be old due to the ordance experiencing its limit of takeoffs and landings.
I bet the the mobilization also caused a lot of other ordnance stock to become “old” due to the higher tempo of ops during the mobilization which saw a lot of combat ready sorties.

So your saying Indian forces mobilised and faced Pakistani forces with any live ammo!!!!!!!????????
Sigh… 😮
No, I am saying that the ordances weren’t released hence the malfunctioning gizmo was not discovered back then. But these live fire exercises have exposed the issues, which is good. The bad was that a pilot was killed before the issue was discovered.
Also, remember that these live fire exercises are also meant to use up the really old stock of munitions before they expire.
The reason why the issue wasn’t detected during the mobilization was because the ordances weren’t being released.
This exercise is a live fire exercise, basically a scripted “war” with fictional enemy positions. It has been a while since the IAF has done live fire exercises due the mobilization and previous tension.
“Pakistan Castled…”
Whoa… do I detect some AoE lingo? If so, pflame, I we can definitely have some things in common. 😀
If you don’t know what AoE is, disregard this msg.

Speaking of the IN’s carrier ops, the IN has been operating carriers for 40+ years and has experience operating CATOBAR, STOVL, & will be operating STOBAR aircraft in the future.

no, the wreckage landed in Pakistan, thats the whole point Victor!
I thought there were some a/c that got hit in Pakistani airspace but crashed inside A’stan. The PAF doesn’t claim them as kills though. Is that correct?
Did any Russian plane get hit by a PAF plane inside Pakistani airspace but wound up crashing in A’stan?
I am not sure when but I think the Alizes were taken off the Vikrant when she got the Harriers and consequently had to be refitted with an ski-jump.
Actually India has operated CTOL aircraft being launched by cats but that was way back in the day… Seahawk and Alize days…
Regarding India having 10 nukes:
India’s nuclear (weapon and power) programs are more than 30 yrs old. The programs have been recieving high levels of monetary and political support almost continuously by different administrations. If one wishes to believe that India has built 10 nuke warheads in 30+ yrs then that’s all right because I can’t give you any concrete numbers but I would suggest that the issue be looked at a bit more critically and rationally.
Oh, btw, in 98 India detonated 5 warheads or nearly half its detterent capability. 😮
