Was gonna do the e ticket thing then relented and went to Barclays Bank.
There were some hot pics of the F22’s over on ukar on arrivals (didnt wanna put up a link incase it got removed):)

on the odd week, we do get the odd “Herc” in for training from Lyneham, and even some “Lynx”, also if lucky the “filton spit” does regulary buzz the house when practising!:) we even had the red’s in recently for a game of golf!

I too experianced an “Aborted landing” last Thursday onboard a BA Connect service from CDG to Bristol (we couldnt even “Go around” for another attempt due to 150mph head winds that had created something of a problem with fuel or lack of it!… that was down to “Wind Shear” as the captain put it, the worst he had experianced in his career to date.
I am an avid flyer.. but was flying with a collegue who was very aprehensive, we had to divert to Birmingham which was closed at the time.

I have to say the combined “Turbulence” and the mishap at Bristol was very scary!! But full credit to the Captain and Crew, ( the “more information as we get it annoucement” was brief with a then running commentary from the captain himself)
Not an experiance I would care to repeat in a hurry.

I see this is being feverishly debated on other forums too, good for the French! at least it was being done quietly and with no fuss, as soon as the press get hold of it it is blown out of all proportion, big difference between “near airworthy” and airworthy…time will tell….

There used to be some gen on the AeroSuperBatics website but now it seems you have to email. IIRC there is a weight and height limit of about 12 stone and 5’8″.

I agree with you Vulcan903 about all those that have worked so tirlessly for the good of the project….but charity or not, this is a still a business.. so then if potential sponsorship has to be met with certain conditions, and not ones borne out of personal conflict I add, that has to be considered if the target has to be met, HLF imposes conditions does it not on what VTTS can and cannot do pending RTF, these have to be worked into the business plan and accomadated, so surely dependant on how much money any potential sponsor is going to invest, and I am talking Millions, they too are going to impose certain conditions that would need to be satisfied on a commercial basis for return of investment. As some would say “its not personal,strictly business” difficult decisions somtimes have to be made, if the outcome is to be a positive one.

So in essense then Vulcan903 are you saying,(Apoligies if I am reading you wrong of course) that the majority would rather see this project fail than speak up?… would you also say that the majority would turn away potential sponsorship for fear of upsetting the apple cart and at the expense of loosing a prominant figure? so there by, it is already over?…..

I think those of us that have alway’s supported this project, and have indeed invested our “Hard Earned Money” in to it, are feeling somewhat helpless and a little in the dark.
But that would have always been the case, if it were cut and dry we would not be here debating it.

I cant speak for anyone else, but I know for me personally if there are changes to be made in the form of Managers,, Trustee’s in order for this project to stand any hope of reaching it’s objective they will be made..

I’m sure the VTTS are now at the point where, realism and the “clock ticking” is only too apparent to them.

If people now need to stand aside, for it to go to the next level, then I see that there is little choice for them, or room for debate.

As I understood it, yes the 31st was some date that was pulled out of nowhere…
Jeez…..I really do hope certain persons are proved wrong here…I’m not saying that it is doomed…because these good folk’s have clearly put their “hearts and souls” into XH558….I do hope its more spin than fact… and I personally believe that what can be done is being done..be it away from the public eye…and not to everyone’s liking…
It aint over yet……let’s continue to watch and see…
