So what’s happening or happened to it now…….why has all that fickle enthusiasm seemed to die away???
Ta :diablo:
Quite the opposite, I was deadly serious about this project, however as Jon said, escalating prices which seemed to take on a life of their own dependant on the mood of a scrap yard, coupled with a degree of sense and sensibility about the task and how viable it was, meant that no it didnt go ahead, that is not to say should such another nose, cockpit come into public view…the same people myself included would have no hesitation in stepping forward again.. I hope it does’nt come to this quite honestly, and that they do have secure homes indefinatly, but who can say what the future holds… 🙂
Its a shame that they dont do a “early bird price”, like RIAT, I always tend to book in advance and save a few pounds. But everyone has their own pricing policy, I dont do Duxford generally, but always RIAT and every other year at Farnborough.

These are my personal thoughts and you won’t offend me by not agreeing with my point of view.
Concorde is the most beautiful piece of aeroengineering ever created. It doesn’t look bad from any angle. As a matter of opinion, it looks beautiful from every angle. It has served the UK proudly, quite rightly being classed as the perfect flag carrier for Britain. Beautifully designed, beautifully maintained and beautifully flown for over two decades, it is a masterpiece. It rightly deserves to win this important competition.
I voted for the Spit.
Beautifully Put! 🙂
I’ve Flown her, and voted for her……
Could BAC not approach AB/Filton, would save on moving her twice? as BAC is custodian of a certain plane on AB property and they work closely together for the Filton museam proprosal which will benifit both parties, surely it would be mutually benificial for them to help save her, or at least offer a temp home?
I found the newsletter to be a informative read, especially as they are without sponsor’s… with the exception of the HLF.
(Que, a rant from some…) but it shows they are not hiding away from the difficulties and complexities of this task….waste of money?… up to the individual to decide..it will go ahead just the same… 🙂
tut, tut… that would be a No… 🙂
Go to “post reply”, I think there is a option for posting a “poll” in there….
You can also view the progress on “live web cams” in the hangar….she is looking good…

Was’nt there a thread along these lines, a few week’s ago in historic?…..check back through, I’m sure it diverted into “was it worth it” etc, but “Fundraising is still ongoing.. whether or not she will fly in 2006 remains to be seen…. but I’m sure myself and a few other’s will be there as and when…..but it will happen at some juncture…
Is it merely a move (bluff ?) to force the hand of the interested parties ?
I cant help feeling that makes for a very valid point…….
Have to say I would rather of had the opportunity to buy the whole airframe for the sum of £4,800…. I think whatever they charge now it will be over inflated….
Whoops, that put me in my place didnt it…. 😮
