concorde
Being an old timer(liking vintage aircraft) I think it is an absolute disgrace that the only supersonic civil aircraft ever built (by anybody) should be consigned to the scrapheep because of politics. Nobody has given a good reason why it (1) cannot be kept flying for air shows in this country or elsewhere. Also no reasonable explanation is forthcoming, why it cannot be l eased to someone else, but then this is where Airbus and the French come into the picture. I believe by what I have read that the French intend to keep one of the Concordes in ready to fly condition. Is this a fact and if so why? It is a disgrace that this country should not make an effort to keep one of the milestones of aviation at least in a flyable condition for future generations to see what this country is capable of doing, and was always at the forefront of new ideas in every field. Its about time that we people that care about this issue made our views known most quite loudly to our various representaties in Parliament that we think it is a disgrace. I for one will be doing that in no uncertain manner Long live the Concorde
