Sorry for going a bit off-topic….
Has there been any recent progress on the Whereatt Hurricane?
The Hurricane XII is back on her undercarriage, the centre section was rebuilt. Tail feathers are back on, and wings being reskinned. Fuel tanks were being fabricated to go into the weapons bay, and the engine mounts are back in place. Probably two years away from completion at this stage.
I could have sworn I saw LS326 flying at Duxford recently.;)
Seriously though well done.
Stand corrected should be HS554, here is the link to Dave O’Malley article on the flight with pictures.

Thanks for that, your right its always been a source confusion for me. The colour scheme is based on 439 Squadron markings used on the Sabre 6s based with RCAF 1 Wing. However the red ensign is actually the Manitoba provincial flag not the Canadian Red ensign.
In Brandon the fourth aircraft of the Yellow Wings tour joined us the Fleet Finch. The four of them are shown together at the #3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School at Southport Manitoba. Jill Oakes the Vintage Wings pilot talks to the Canadian Forces student pilots about what it is like flying the Finch.
This Bolingbrook is a familiar site on the way to the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum at Brandon Manitoba. A garden Boly?
While at St. Andrew’s Manitoba we were hosted by the owner of this A26 Marauder. The RCAF never flew these but if you have the passion to own and fly one you can paint it any colour you like. Ditto on his Harvard!
This image on the Canadian Air Force Museum site in Trenton perhaps shows Republics attempt at marketing to the RCAF.

She was to be at the American Airpower Museum Farmingdale NY for a Battle of Britain event this weekend. Sounds like she made it despite Hurricane Earl.
Rob Erdos did the fist flight then flew the Harvard chase plane for John Aiken on the second flight. He gave a great talk on his impressions of the aircraft, its faster and slower than the Harvard! John comented that he was surprised at how quickly it got airborne almost before he was ready. Even taking it easy she seemed to be off well before 900 feet. An interesting machine.
i was standing next to Mike Potter when she flew for the second flight as soon as 416 was airborn he called Harry to tell him she was flying. Even held the phone up so he could hear her fly by. He said all Harry could say is he wished he could have been there in person.
Flew twice today, John Aiken’s comments an interesting machine!

The poem was included on the back of a letter to his parents.
Anyone know where us colonials might get to see it?
