I’ve been out of the loop for a while. How is China’s production on Song and other diesel submarines going? Anything new in the past 3 months? Thank you. 🙂

The accuracy of that anti-sattelite missile was quite amazing, wasn’t it? It is usually said that Chinese ballistic missiles are quite inaccurate even against fixed targets, yet this missile hit a small target moving at an extermely fast speed. How do you think the missile was able to pull that off?

    joey,

Thanks for the article. It was really a great one, as far as it really blew my mind. I had to post that one on my site too.

Well, in my opinion, I think that the decline of the population is particularly bad in Russia. In Europe there is generally a population decline (except in France, I believe). Germany has a population decline and so does Russia. Russia has problem providing healthcare and even the beubonic plague has re-appeared.

It’s strange how when the living is good (like in Europe) there is a low birth rate, since people want to focus on their careers and they do that instead of growing families. However in Russia even when there are few economic opportunities, they still don’t grow families. It’s very strange how that works.

It’s really a mystery why Russians don’t have larger families. I guess you’d have to ask a Russian really.

I think the Russians got him. He had large amounts of Thallium in his body, which is only found in trace amounts in buildings and public. So how else could it have gotten in his body if some spy had not stuck him full of it?

I believe that Russia also poisoned the President of Ukraine too. It makes sense, IMO. The US is still playing some very hard realpolitik to turn Russia’s neighbors away from her. Russia still has the remnants of her KGB, and Putin was in the KGB, so that’s how they conduct their foreign policy. They use the weapons they can (oil and spies).

Well when GW comes calling, all hell will break loose. So I guess NK Nukes wont protect them, or anyone else for that matter. I hope it wont happen, but as I have said before, Nukes don’t make you any safer. Your’e better off not having them at all.

Armageddon may be just around the corner.

That’s an interesting argument, but if they can develop the nukes so that they are small enough to be concealed or at least deliverable, then they could be a useful deterrent, wouldn’t you say? They could hide them in a cave, and threaten to use them on any Korea or any staging grounds for an invasion force.

It is not a JSTARs type of aircraft, more like ELINT, a spy plane, meant to intercept and read signals from radar stations, ships, or other aircraft like AEW aircraft of other countries. Yes. I think it may be used to survey and track the KJ AWACS, gathering data, monitoring its datalinks and signals. I kind of think that these planes—filled with technicians—are used to follow and monitor the AWACS.

    Crobato,

What kind of plane do you think it was that went down? You’re saying that it is neither the Y-8 Balance Beam nor the KJ-2000 AWACS? Could you provide a picture of the one you think it is, or is it the one that looks like that passenger plane with 3 engines?

    Thanks a bunch.

    Happy posting

    Good move. 🙂 🙂 🙂
