Who wins in a fight (BVR and dogfight)? F-18 or Mirage-2000?
🙂
okkkk…….now…….is this PSed???
Looks pretty PS’ed. The balance beam is disproportionately large and the bars it is resting on are disporportionately long for the rest of the aircraft.
had a skim through and there doesnt appear to be any reliable sources to support the idea. just a bunch of rumors and speculation.
its kinda like the rumors of thousands of J10s being planned, its just random numbers until someone can get some decent material to back it up.
Thank you for the response. 🙂 I was a little surprised by people already saying that J-10 was a “transition fighter.” I was like WTF? :p
I heard on the World Armed Forces Forum that China was cutting J-10 production to 200 orders. What do y’all think?

Sounds like 271! 😮 Thanks y’all. 😀
AVP felt really short and the Predators got punked. 2 1/2 stars. 🙁
Does Gorshkov have a catapult? How do the aircraft take off?
So I am supporter of just setting up another production line for the LCA and doubling the production rate to make up the nos. Special stuff like the new french A2G munitions, laser pods etc can be purchased and integrated. prices wont be cheap but
cheaper than buying a foreign airframe and engine also…
If that can be done, it sounds like a good idea. Import US engines and build the rest yourself. That helps out HAL and keeps the money in India. This should improve the product as well, since HAL gets the profits from government contracts, gets to re-invest in LCA, and by putting all the pressure on HAL, it should force them to turn out a product faster/on time and work out the bugs.
Yes…..there will be 40 odd (hopefully only 20) a/c flying with GE-404F2J3 engines. Kaveri will have a systematic and slow operationalization which will spill into the next decade (by which time the IAF would be well versed with the LCA platform in general).
So, the LCA that flew, was kind of like an empty shell? No radar, minimal avionics? Less than a prototype?
When did China first start making workable J-10 prototypes? 03′?
What plane should the IAF go with? Opinions? Rafale and Eurofighter are expensive. I’m gonna go with Mirage 2000. That can help to NOT diversify the IAF.
A simple question deserves a simple answer
The LCA will only be operational by 08 and HAL cannot produce more than amount x per year of the plane, especially in the initial years, in the meantime older IAF planes will still need to be retired, hence……., the IAF also wants to increase squadron strength asap, note the term asap, now you should get the picture why “Hindustan” does not only go for the LCA.
So, LCA w/o Kaveri will only be operational by 08?
If India wants to produce 126 jets shouldn’t they go with the LCA (with an American engine or an engine for somebody else). That would help Hindustan wouldn’t it? Why buy more foreign planes?
I found this audio report to be very informative.
If that doesn’t work try this link and scroll down to Iran’s Military Power:
So, the general consensus is that the supposed Su-32 clone (that Kanwa reported) seems more likely to be J-11B? Is that correct?

China IL-76
Is China able to construct IL-76 from scratch? I thought not. 😮
