Thanks Dave,
But it is a Mk IIb I am after in night fighter paint.
Thank you for replying
Chris
The right hand picture was when it was at RAF Acklington.
Chris
Andy,
This has cropped up before, As I was researching the crash and asked If I could use the 43 sqn crest from your book.
I did manage to locate the exact sites of both aircraft with the stories going to print in the spring of 2011
Chris
Nothing at my end either
Chris
Paul,
Thanks for that, did’nt realise it was over a year ago for that responce.
Just goes to show you can’t always believe what you read, one of my books list it as
EP550…..A Ju 88 .
Cheers
Chris
Gents,
I returned to the site on 22/11/2010,
I had a little more info, I heard a rumour that a plaque was at the site, but had’nt been seen for years.
I had a good scratch around and unearthed this plaque. It was well buried and would have been lost. I cleaned it up and put it back on veiw.
The site is that of Dougals Havoc AW392
Well, I am glad I left it on site.
Thanks for clearing that up…no doubt at all.
regards
Chris
Gents,
That makes sence, the remains of a car are buried near by.
Thanks
Chris
Edgar,
Thank you for the sections I require from the ORB, Not as clear as we thought!
Chris
Tony,
More images please, rewarding work you are following here.
Chris
Simon,
Thank you for sharing this. I have sent you a Pm regarding the photos.
Chris.
Alan,
Well spotted.
many thanks
Chris
That was my thought, but a friend had asked the question, and it seemed rude not to try to find out.
Thank you
Chris
Thanks Gents,
That confirms the date of the accident.
Anyone jonw the service numbers for the two pilots.
Kind regards
Chris
I have to admit, far better than the David Jason one on ITV last week.
