Cool, Ill keep looking. I found mine on barnstormers. it was is out west.Chicago area. he has nothing else for it. :(. I need parts for a few projects. (kinner and ranger) . its all part of the fun in doing these restorations. I try to keep all of my engines in ready to run condition. nothing is just for looks. who doesnt like a smokey radial starting.you seem to have a huge collection. what do you have?

Looks like a really nice engine. ive never seen the spark plug wires routed that way. I think the russian v-12s may be a great deal for somebody. If i was local i would definitly check them out. my next projet im starting on are a pair of ranger v770s i just picked up.

you can give germany credit for the jet engine also. Dr. Hans von Ohain had a running engine the same year as Whittle. both are given credit as in inventing it. please correct me if im wrong. I agree Germany did not do much after the war but there scientists did for other countries . look at the USA space race . I think that each time period had great inventions/ developments from all countries. this is definitly a tough question.

thanks for the tip. ill email them to see what else he has . maybe i can get a cylinder and carb! I finished the broken magneto last week. i had the bearing plate welded back together and free up the magnet part that spins. it actually worked when i was done putting it all back together.! now i have 2 good mags. I set the timing on it monday . pretty easy to do. and the mags are now bolted on. Ill post pics tomarrow. i got a little side tracked on this project because i pickup up a few more engines for the collection. sorry nothing British.

I think if we continue on the current path we will see no manufacturing due to enviromental group concerns,I dont know of any current graduates from schooling that what to work with there hands either. higher taxes to pay for our new healthcare, say goodbye to medicare. look around. we have monitoring cameras on every street lamp/phone pole in my area.( NY/NJ ) Lots of laws to “protect” us citizens from harm. I could go on but them you think im a crazy nut! and this is a airplane forum. feel free to attack my comments. I can take it.

I had the same problem on the front cover. the big front bearing was the issue. its seemed to be pressed onto the crank. make sure all the lifters are removed. i sued a little heat on the bearing were it meets the crank. doest take much. you dont want to get it that hot or its ruined. then 2 or 3 levers on the cover and it came right off.it was a pain to get it right on the way back in also. if its wrong engine locks up on assembly. here is a picture with the xhaust going on. now i have to fix a stuck starter.
