Great purchase
now those ARE smokey engines 😀
You talk about the equipment while ignoring the political realities when discussing a “possible” invasion, so ok, reality check folks: In 1982, Argentina was controlled by a military dictatorship. The loss of the war directly lead to their downfall, it is now a functional democracy. They will never make the same mistake of invasion again.
Likewise the British will never make the same mistakes again, which is evident by the detatchment of Tornados and military presence on the islands. It was obvious weeks and months before the invasion happened, that the Argentinians were building up – the British didnt respond, they didnt believe there was a real threat of invasion. Do you honestly think that will happen again? The merest hint of a military build up will lead to the implementation of a massive plan to get even stronger defences in place.
So stop your wet dreaming
I would assume the American worry is based purely on the fear of the British having spies in their ranks who would then pass on sensitive information to the Russians and Chinese.
But of course they’re no more likely to be infiltrated than american industry.
In my humble opinion the yanks owe the British respect, after all historically the British have gifted them with many superior engine designs through the years
i was just having a smoke on my windowsill (im still living at home hehe) it’s 1:30am here…. saw what to my eyes was a very odd aircraft. heard no noise, the plane was only about 2 miles away by my estimations.
it wasnt aliens, unless they’ve taken to abiding by navigation rules with green and red lights 😀
what struck me as odd was; the white lights went back at an angle, about 30 degrees from nose to tail, like the aircraft was climbing, but it wasnt, it was level. since i’m in ireland, it eh, rules out top secret military behaviour as well. the only thing i can think of is it had flaps down and was flying with the nose up for some bizarre reason, its far too early for it to be doing that in a landing pattern though.
i initially thought it was flying towards me with with the left wing tilted toward the ground…
very odd.
anyway i often see an aircraft at a few thousand feet, flying slowly with two white lights constantly pointing forward, it’s nothing more unusual than the garda pbn defender though 😉
Canada going for Rafale anyone?
