well to give a backing for u …..since the yanks were mostly into Photographing moon, maybe Russians and Chinese and maybe Indian wud be able to do much better work on moon other than photographing ….so cheer up man, u guys really did land on “moon” …..

hey btw, don forget to chek out the pictures once more … jst in case 😀
I visited several official NASA websites to find HOW MANY PHOTOS WERE TAKEN on the surface of the Moon. Amazingly, NASA AVOIDS THIS SUBJECT almost entirely. Two days of searching documents and text were fruitless. But Lunar Surface Journal, one of the sites, lists every photo with its file number. So I undertook to make an actual count of every photo taken by astronauts DURING EXTRA-VEHICULAR ACTIVITY (EVA), the time spent on the surface out of the LEM.
Here is my actual count of EVA photos of the six missions:
Apollo 11……….. 121
Apollo 12……….. 504
Apollo 14……….. 374
Apollo 15……….1021
Apollo 16……….1765
Apollo 17……….1986So 12 astronauts while on the Moon’s surface took a TOTAL of 5771 exposures.
That seemed excessively large to me, considering that their TIME on the lunar surface was limited, and the astronauts had MANY OTHER TASKS OTHER THAN PHOTOGRAPHY. So I returned to the Lunar Surface Journal to find how much TIME was available to do all the scientific tasks AS WELL AS PHOTOGRAPHY. Unlike the number of photos, this information is readily available:
Apollo 11……..1 EVA …..2 hours, 31 minutes……(151 minutes)
Apollo 12……..2 EVAs…..7 hours, 50 minutes……(470 minutes)
Apollo 14……..2 EVAs…..9 hours, 25 minutes……(565 minutes)
Apollo 15……..3 EVAs…18 hours, 30 minutes….(1110 minutes)
Apollo 16……..3 EVAs…20 hours, 14 minutes….(1214 minutes)
Apollo 17……..3 EVAs…22 hours, 04 minutes….(1324 minutes)Total minutes on the Moon amounted to 4834 minutes.
Total number of photographs taken was 5771 photos.Hmmmmm. That amounts to 1.19 photos taken EVERY MINUTE of time on the Moon, REGARDLESS OF OTHER ACTIVITIES. (That requires the taking of ONE PHOTO EVERY 50 SECONDS!) Let’s look at those other activities to see how much time should be deducted from available photo time:
The stunt is freaking nuts! What are they hoping to accomplish?
something that USAF,USN and others accomplishes through Hollywood :p
Russia-Algeria defence deal may benefit India

Moscow may source from India some components for jet fighters Algiers is buying
MOSCOW: India may get a share of a multi-billion defence package Russia has sealed with Algeria for the supply of combat aircraft, defence industry sources said.
Russian aircraft manufacturers may source from India some key components for a large batch of jet fighters Algeria is buying from Russia, the sources said.
Under a record $7.5-billion defence package announced during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Algiers on Friday, Russia will supply 28 Su-30 multi-role, long-range fighter planes, 49 multi-role MiG-29SMT fighters, 20 Yak-130 advanced jet trainers, as well as air-defence systems and tanks.
“Algeria wants its Su-30 to closely match the Su-30MKI version India has procured from Russia,” the sources told The Hindu. “The Su-30MKI has some Indian-made avionics and other parts, therefore Indian companies may be contracted to supply the same components for Algeria.”
India, which is building 140 Su-30MKI under Russian licence, is also involved in the manufacture of avionics and airframe parts for Su-30MKM jets Malaysia has purchased from Russia.
Russian experts said the Algerian contacts are improving Russia’s chances of winning the tender for the supply of 126 multi-role combat aircraft to the IAF.
Russia has fielded its latest MiG-35 fighter plane in the Indian tender.
“The contract for the supply of four dozen MiG-29SMT planes to Algeria has propelled the MiG corporation to the top position among Russia’s aircraft manufacturers and has sharply consolidated the company’s financial standing ahead of the Indian tender,” said Mr. Dmitry Vasiliev of the Centre for Analysis of Strategies and Technologies.
The MiG-35 (export name of the MiG-29M/M2 version), powered by an innovative thrust vectoring engine, RD-33OVT, will compete for the Indian contract against Lockheed Martin’s F16, and SAAB’s Gripen.
I wonder y this was not posted ….. hope the MiG-29s sweep the contract for the M-MRCA and the Indian Navy ….
So FORCE was correct that IN might be ordering 40 MiG-35 for their land based duties … and we did hear that the M-MRCA contract have been enlarged to include the Indian Navy’s requirements too ….
I hope all the 200 a/c be the MiG-29s …. 😎

Gradient,
man, thats some grrr8 pics of the Project 955 Borey model, atleast I can now start loving that SSBN 😀 , I didn’t quite a bit like the turtle back Deltas, and was keeping my fingers crosed to see that the stuff got changed to a much beautiful profile ….. so is it that its still having 12 Silos or have it been increased to 16?? …. I’d have liked to see it having atleast 16 and preferrably 24 Silos like the Ohio …. if got more pics, plz do post more …. Thanks for posting the Pics.

The USSR started the race but did ‘NOT’ finish it! It never sent a man to the moon, the real goal in the race. Just an accident or two more than the USA, delayed the USSR’s program.
and shall i ask where is the finish line in Space Race??

some points from a site which cite the reasons for the mission …. btw, have anyone seen that video? … some of the points that u see here have been skillfully been answered by NASA through Discovery Channel and hope u guys do remember which all questions where they ….
The Top 15 Reasons Why No Man Has Ever Set Foot on the Moon
15. “Tricky Dick” Richard Nixon was president at the time. He was the king of cover-up, secret tapes and scandal. Think about all of his potential antics that were not discovered.
14. A successful manned mission to the moon offered a wonderful pride-boosting distraction for the near revolt of the US citizens over 50,000 deaths in the Vietnam War.
13.The Soviets had a five-to-one superiority to the U.S. in manned hours in space. They were first in achieving the following seven important milestones:
First manmade satellite in earth orbit…
First man in space…
First man to orbit the earth…
First woman in space…
The first crew of three astronauts onboard one spacecraft…
The first space walk…
The first of two orbiting space craft rendezvousing…
This put America at a perceived military disadvantage in missile technology during the very height of the Cold War.12. Neil Armstrong, the first man to supposedly walk on the moon, refuses to give interviews to anyone on the subject. “Ask me no questions, and I’ll tell you no lies.” Collins also refuses to be interviewed. Aldrin, who granted an interview, threatened to sue us if we showed it to anyone. See streaming video: “Buzz says, “Buzz Off!”
11. Newly retouched photographs correct errors from previously released versions. Why would they be updating thirty-year-old pictures if they really went to the moon?
10. Rediscovered lost footage shows the American flag blowing in the wind. The wind was probably caused by intense air-conditioning used to cool the astronauts in their lightened, uncirculated, space suits. The cooling systems in the backpacks would have been removed to lighten the load not designed for earth’s six times heavier gravity, otherwise they might have fallen over. See streaming video: “Flag blowing in the wind.”
9. Enlarged photographs underneath the lunar lander’s 10,000 lb. thrust engine show the soil completely undisturbed. During ground tests there was grave concern for the vehicle falling into the hole the engine created as it descended. An oversight that they would have to keep consistent for all subsequent moon missions. They attributed it to the effect of no atmosphere (except for the flag blowing in the wind – see # 10!)
8. Rare, uncirculated photographs, allegedly from the moon’s surface, show scenes supposedly lit solely by sunlight. Yet they contain shadows that do not run parallel with each other, indicating supplemental artificial light. Sunlight would cast shadows that would never intersect. See our streaming video: “Photographic Analysis” for some eye opening examples.
7. The moon is 250,000 miles away. The space shuttle has never gone more than 400 miles from the Earth. Except for Apollo astronauts, no humans even claim to have gone beyond low-earth orbit. When the space shuttle astronauts did get to an altitude of 400 miles, the radiation of the Van Allen belts forced them to a lower altitude. The Van Allen radiation belts exist because the Earth’s magnetic field traps the solar wind. See streaming video: “Radiation Belts.”
6. The top portion of the lunar module which landed on the moon supposedly popped up off the moon with two astronauts aboard, entered lunar orbit 60 miles up, and docked with the command module in lunar orbit. To look at its design and think such could have actually occurred is absolutely ludicrous.
5. The surface of the moon is a vacuum. The landing module would have been heated to 250 degrees on the light side where they landed. There is no way they could have rejected the heat for as long as 72 hours as they claim on some Apollo missions.
4. Take a look at the lunar module which supposedly flew from lunar orbit to the surface of the moon. It is a cylindrical shape with a high center of gravity and one big thrust engine at the bottom. Upon just looking at this design, to think it would not immediately pinwheel and crash, as the lunar module trainer did three weeks prior on Earth, is absurd.
3. After the Apollo 11 mission, Armstrong, Collins and Aldrin gave a press conference. When asked whether they remembered seeing any stars from the surface of the moon, Collins, who was supposedly in the command module the whole time, gave a wrong answer to a question he should not have been answering. The relevant portion of this clip is in my documentary; viewing it with an understanding of the circumstances makes it clear they were lying about having traveled to the moon. I’m saying Collins blew it right then and there and I honestly cannot understand why there is even further discussion on the whole topic. Furthermore, if you obtain a written transcript of the press conference you’ll see that the comment is erroneously attributed to Aldrin. Honest mistake or cover-up?
2. In 1967 three astronauts were burned alive on the launch pad. The upshot of the congressional inquiry was that the entire Apollo program was in shambles and it was a miracle no one was killed sooner. All of the problems were supposedly fixed by 1969, just two years later. How could they have made such a large improvement in “quality control” in such a short period of time.
1. All Apollo missions stayed in low-earth orbit for the duration of the trip. We uncovered some mislabeled, unedited, behind-the-scenes footage from NASA that shows the crew of Apollo 11 clearly staging a shot of being half-way to the moon. This clip, shown in our documentary, proves they did not leave low-earth orbit. You won’t see this anywhere else!
well anyone is free to believe what they want .. and i don have to tell what my belief is …
Blackcat you cant compare a Su to a nuke submarine , A N submarine provided you a least vulnerable way of firing your N Missile , The presence of N sub restricts enemy moment and creates constant fear and hence ties huge assets just to be in high alert.
As far as operating the Akula in secrecy is concerned , its just not mighty possible , The US and other countries has a quite good survellence on worlds ocean and you cant hide that long .
As I see no reason to hide the Akula deal when we went public with the Charlie deal quite in advance during the height of cold war.
Akula can unnerve Chinese and Pak , But heck who cares , thats why they were bought , to maintain the qualitative edge with the IN.
i do agree, but there is no need for anyone to shout that look they already got a Nukie boat out there and that we need to pump up our forces there …
I leave it there …
Are u shure? There were russian scientists who said that also, but were silenced by the regime too. There is a chance if was faked the evidence isnt 100% convincing and with all that media hype in the west at the tim ethe russians would have lot of problems…you had to have a camera at the moon landing site to convinse people if it was faked or not and if you showed it even then US. government and people would say “this is russian propaganda,blablabla…”-I think u would be one of those people,too!-Do u get the picture now.Russians didnt want the to make waves,at the time.
yup gotta agree ….. the world revolves aroud —– The LIES will ALWAYS BE the TRUTH, unless PROVEN Otherwise!
So unless the concrete evidence of the Moon landing to be fake can’t be proved, it will remain that during the Vetnam War the Yanks were having regular picknic to the Moon and ended with the Vietnam War ……
Hope none of u guya have forgotten the U-2 Flight over Soviet Union … untill and Unless the Pilot was not showcase, American Govt denid the same … the moon landiong might be just the Granpa of this small incident!
The only think that can now confir the moon landing wud be the 12 Camera left on Moon … maybe Chinese landing or the Russian base might be able to find all those 12 Cameras and auction it back on Earth for a good Amount :p :p … I wonder y there is no colectors for the Moon camera 😀 ….
I also do believe the American interest in India’s Lunar mission is to sideline the Chinese mission as lies and propaganda, if at all their camera don’t pick up any evidence of the oon landing …. I wonder, if at all India’s moon mission which is looking forawrd to cover the entire moon atleast picks up the American flag still blowing on the Moon …..

well let me put some notes on the camera used on the “moon” ….
The Camera used was a Hasselblad Electric Data Camera (known as the “Moon Camera”) which was a modified Hasselblad EL, which is the predessor of the present day Hasselblad 555ELD.
The camera meant for the Apollo Mission had to be specially lubricated as the normal lubricant of the shutter would have boiled in vaccum. The camera had to be assured to operate in temperatures between -120 deg C and -180 deg C. The “dangerous” materials used in the camera such as plastic, glue, paint and insulation had to be approved by NASA specialists. All the electrical equipment had to be carefully sealed so as to eliminate any risk of causing the oxygen-saturated atmosphere in the capsule to ignite and the exterior of the camera was modified to allow operation with spacesuit gloves.
And to the surprise of all those who have ENVIED the West for keeping Archievs and preserving any material of historical significance (of theirs) wud find it really undigestable that, the these camera used on the Moon was never brought back to earth. Due to weight restriction no camera equipment was brought back other than the film magazines, from which we got to see the really beautiful pictures from the studio …….. errrrrrr ….. I mean the “Moon”. 😀
Austin,
can u send me the article related to the P-75 A, B and I?? … i’ll be waiting for ur mail … tks in advance.
Dont get surprised if IN Akulas are patrolling the mallaca straits. no one knows.. :diablo: .. god only knows .. wait a minute .. ofcourse newly found strategic parters know apart from Russian.. rumor is that the chinese and pak people are thinking that it is russian.. offcourse akulas are not fying the flag.. damn it.. 😀
well the first report abt the Akulas coming to India was around late 2000 and that it will be in Indian waters during early 2001 ….. secondly, only a dumbhead Admiral wud put the nukies off the China coast now, when the western coast needs it the most …. thirdly …. h much can a N-powered undersea boat change the balance of power in the IOR, considering that the submarine is not just another N-submarine?? …. how much can the presence of the same N-powered Piranah make anyone to soft peddle and move forward for sweetners in IOR with the fine tuned approach of … “if u can’t beat them, join them” ….. or …. “its better to keep it off for nw” ….. what say??
for the nukies in Indian service …. take the Su-30 deal as an example ….. first we went in for the Ks so as to get accustomed with the Sukhois and its later on that the specialied Su-30MKI was to arrive ….. so y cudn’t be that, an Akula really entered the Indian service way back in 2001 (as per earlier reports) and that the two (or even four) “customised” boats be entering the service in future?? ……
