I hope the deal get washed offf …. :dev2:
that will see the 12 a/c being going to Russia 😎 … anyway Venezuela shud be looking forweard to Russia for the same, as Europeans will do the same thing as what US did to the F-16s..
Also for the Frigates, the Venezuelans wud do well to get the 20302 variants, Mirage or Sobol ( 😎 ) class FAC etc etc …..
More interesting to me than the M-400 recce pod, is the ‘filled in’ area between the engine trunking.
No-one has yet explained what this is for ??
A stealthy weapons bay ??
A fuel tank ??
Anyone ?
Ken
Ken, if u’ve not gone thru the same, let me put it now ….
The ‘filled-in’ area under the belly is a weapons bay (u r Right!!!) …. and i only recently got to know that, its actually meant for the ASW Flankers (!)
But its said about the Su-34 and not directly abt the MKK. The Su-27IB with such an underbelly weapons bay can carry a lot of load ….. 😀 😀 ….. yup…. it says upto 72 sonobouys of varios kind (!!!) … now thats a real mean capablity!
I am not sure if the one on the MKK can have that much number, as we have the M-400 below that. But cud be possible, as the M-400 ‘stem’ is not going to obstruct the bay that much.
Oh yeah as for where its from, where else other than from my favorite Dr Carlo Kopp 😀 ….
here is something that might interes u …
Russia has an amazing Death Ray Gun…
Shielding is ineffective. The scalar pulse (or continuous wave) can go anywhere gravity can go. It penetrates the steel hull of tanks and armored vehicles. It penetrates underground shelters and bunkers. It penetrates pillboxes and fortifications. Foxholes are no protection. Just shoot through the earth into them. There is no longer any place to hide.
Bodies did not decay even in 30 days…
The Soviets are employing just such a scalar “death ray” weapon in Afghanistan, apparently in the noses of some of their HIND helicopters. These choppers usually fire gas rockets to camouflage the testing of the tactical scalar death ray. For example, they may fire rockets filled with nerve gas, and some persons will die convulsively from the chemical. Those hit by the scalar EM weapon, however, have a most peculiar death mode.
Death comes-instantly and totally. There is no convulsion, no response. The entire nervous system is destroyed instantly. Every living cell in the body is killed instantly, including all bacteria, germs, etc. A body hit with this thing falls like a limp rag and lies where it falls. It doesn’t decay in even 30-45 days. In a macabre fashion, it’s been reduced to something like food irradiated with nuclear radiation; everything is killed, so the material is preserved for an extended period before any decay can set in.
Western military authorities have speculated that this strange death is due to some sort of eery new gas. However, even with the most virulent gas, some seconds are required for a body to die. And while it’s dying it goes into convulsions. Violent convulsions. This eery, instant death that leaves a non-decaying corpse is not due to a gas. This is the signature of a high-powered pulse kill using a scalar EM weapon. The associated gas rockets are the disguise used to fool our intelligence analysts. They’re just part of the Soviet deception plan.
ADDITIONAL NOTES AND REFERENCES – For details of the mysterious, instant deaths in Afghanistan, see Yossef Bodansky, “Soviets testing chemical agents in Afghanistan,” Jane’s Defence Weekly, 1(13), Apr. 7, 1984, p. 508
Armor has no effect…
Such weapons are also effective against armored vehicles, for example. They can be carried by personnel, mounted on vehicles, mounted in helicopters, etc. They are truly all-purpose weapons.
An infantryman with a bazooka-sized scalar EM pulse weapon can easily knock out a tank with one shot. The armor has no effect; scalar EM goes right through conductive shielding and Faraday cages. And with the same weapon he can knock out another tank, and another, and another…
More frightening than the mind of Man has ever imagined…
Brezhnev’s unheeded 1975 characterization of these weapons as “more frightening than the mind of ran has ever imagined” has very real justification. There is now a “balance of terror” loose in the world that makes the old MADmen’s MAD concept look like a sunny day in Hawaii.
“Each side secretly develops new means of warfare in order to employ them unexpectedly. History knows many examples how the employment of a new weapon initially gave considerable success because the enemy, caught unawares and not knowing the combat capabilities of this weapon, was for some time incapable of effective counteraction” – V. Yo. Savkin, The Basic Principles of Operational Art and Tactics, Moscow, 1972.
RUSSIA’S DEATH RAY WEAPON…
The Soviet scientific attention to Tesla’ a last living assistant has even more ominous implications when one realizes that the U.S.S.R. is using nuclear fusion energy research in the creation of their horrible new PARTICLE BEAM DEATH RAY WEAPON. General George Keegan, retired Air Force Chief of Intelligence, has devoted great energy to warning the American people about the immense danger of the Soviet particle beam weapon. Keegan’s warnings met strong objections from the Rockefeller-CFR political flunkies who control the Pentagon.
A detailed and technical account of the Soviet’s near perfection of their particle bean DEATH RAY Weapon (which confirms General Keegan’s warning) appeared in the May 2, 1977 issue of AVIATION VIE & SPACE TECHNOLOGY. The Soviet particle beam weapon will be able to destroy U.S. intercontinental ballistic missiles and thus, NEUTRALIZE MOST US STRATEGIC WEAPONS.
The book, LIGHTNING IN HIS HAND. THE LIFE STORY OF NIKOLA TESLA by Ines Hunt and Wanetta V. Draper (Omni Publications), devotes an entire chapter to Tesla’s death ray design. The description of Tesla’s death ray is very similar to the description of the Soviet particle beam weapon. Hunt and Draper reported that news of Tesla’s death ray appeared in a Colorado Springs paper on May 30, 1924. “The news story told of the invention of an invisible ray, developed by Tesla, which was capable of stopping airplanes in mid flight, an invention which had come about through improvements on Tesla’s Colorado Springs discoveries.”
The book stated that in 1934, an Associated Press report quoted Tesla as “saying that his ray was based on an entirely new principle of physics. He … claimed that his bean could destroy 10,000 planes at a distance of two hundred and fifty miles. … The beam was only one one-hundred-millionth centimeter.” Tesla stated that his bean could create, “a veritable Chinese wall around the country, and could defend the United States against all foes.” “His beam,” he claimed, “could melt any engine, whether driven by diesel or gasoline or oil, and THERE WAS NO POSSIBLE DEFENSE AGAINST IT.”
Hunt and Draper continued, “The ray was described as the most important of all Tesla’s inventions so far. It was said that IT COULD SEND CONSECRATED BEAMS OF PARTICLES THROUGH FREE AIR, and could cause armies of millions to drop dead in their tracks. …The Tesla ray involved four new inventions: one, comprising an apparatus for producing rays and other manifestations of energy in free air, eliminating the high vacuum necessary for producing such rays and beans; the second, a method for producing great electrical forces and the third, a plan for amplifying this process in the second invention; and the fourth, a new method of producing a tremendous repelling force. … The voltages to be employed were fifty million volts, catapulted for destruction. The entire process was labeled, by Tesla, his ‘TELEFORCE’.”
Additional evidence that the Soviets are using the scientific techniques of Nikola Tesla in their weather warfare against America appeared in a press report in the September 23, 1977 WASHINGTON POST. The newspaper reported that “a strange, star-like ball of light was sighted over Petrozavodsk in Soviet Karelia, spreading over it like a jelly fish and showering down shafts of light.” A number of Russians witnessed the event, which was reported by the Soviet news agency Tass. A similar phenomenon was seen over neighboring Finland.
Witnesses in Helsinki stated that a strange and unusual “ball of fire was visible for about four minutes.”
An article in the JOURNAL OF GEOPHYSICAL RERSEARCH by Dr. B.N. Turuan stated that U.S. military intelligence satellites have also reported sighting what are apparently monster lightning bolts over the U.S.S.R. Dr. Thurman revealed that the “superbolts” were thousands of times more powerful than any previously sighted there.
According to Dr. Turuan, these “superbolts” have electrical power to about 10 TRILLION WATTS and total energies of more than a billion joules. Prior to the new Soviet sightings, the most powerful lightning bolts ever recorded were 10 billion watts and contained total energies of one million joules.
Anyone familiar with Nikola Tesla’s numerous experiments (especially those in Colorado Springs) would recognize that the strange Soviet super lightning bolts are probably the direct result of Russia’s use of the fantastically high power Tesla-style weather warfare attacks, nuclear fusion development, and the related particle beam death ray development. Tesla personally created lightning bolts about 1735 feet long, about 77 years ago.
The article in the June, 1976 issue of RADIO ELECTRONIC MAGAZINE described current US experimentation in creating gigantic Tesla-style man-made lightning and ball lightning (in the search for a fusion energy solution). However, the U.S. experiment is relatively tiny, compared to the massive Soviet efforts.
Pesho, some very good stuff there man … let more come …
the robotic stuff looks interesting …

Posting an earlier news … regarding the arrival of the same … its based on this article that i made the earlier post regarding the same ..
here is The Hindu article which appeared on 12 Dec 2005, I cud not find the online version and so did i not got to see the news article in any other online links, So hopefully only Hindu carried this report ….
Navy Launches Expansion Programme (Dec 12, 2005, Hindu)
Its Stature in South Asia is growing, says Assistant Naval Chief
Special Correspondent
ARAKKONAM: In view of its growing stature in South Asia and the consequent increasing role in the Indian Ocean, the Indian Navy has launched a big expansion programme which included the replacement and modernisation of the existing fleet of naval planes and helicopters, according to the Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Air), Sunil K.Damle.
The Navy recently concluded joint exercises with the U.S and French Navies, and those of several South-East Asian countries. “As fas as our maritime reconnaissance task is concerned, we want to bring the entire Indian Ocean under our survellience, for which we need more and modern aircraft,” Rear Admiral Damle told newspersons at the Naval Air Station, INS Rajali here on Saturday. He was here to witness the passing out parade of the 65th Helicopter Conversion Course.
Refurbishment
Rear Admiral Damle said that the five IL-38 maritime warplanes presently located in Goa, have been sent to Russia for refurbishment. After retrofitting, the first aircraft would be received by the end of this month, while the other four would be received next month. All the five would be re-based in Arakkonam. The Government of India had given permission to the Indian Navy to replace the 8 Tu-142 planes located in INS Rajali, and the 16 Sea King naval helicopters based in different naval air stations in the country, all of which have become very old. While Russia has offered to supply IL-38 planes, the P3C Orion planes are also on offer from the United States. Besides, French and Spanish companies have also offered to supply the planes. The Indian Navy will decide later about which aircraft to buy to replace the Tu-142 planes, he said.
Mid-life update
The Assistant Chief of the naval Staff said the Navy was going to do “mid-life update” of the Kamov-28 helicopters being operated from a ship of Russian origin. “The sensors and radars will be changed. The Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Banglore is carrying out an update on our Sea Harriers,” he said.
Rear Admiral Damle said that while the MiG-29 aircraft to be acquired by the Indian Navy from Russia will be ready before the end of 2007, INS Gorshkov, the Russian aircraft carrier would be commisioned in the Indian Navy by 2008. The refetting programme of the aircraft-carrier is on schedule in Russia and INS Gorshkov will be renamed as INS Vikramaditya when it joins the Indian Navy.
Also to be noted is that, the Indian media earlier never carried the offer that Russia was making …
and seems like the smart guys waited a bit more and modified and put their version being the 5 a/c will be arriving in January. And seemingly, it was a straight lifr from The Hindu article ….
INDIAN return
21/12/05The Indian navy is due to receive all five of its refurbished Ilyushin Il-38 maritime patrol aircraft from Russia by late January. It has also received permission to seek replacements for its eight Tupolev Tu-142s and 16 Westland Sea King 42s and intends to upgrade its Kamov Ka-28s.
Since lot is said abt Venezuelean Oil .. y not some news, which ans Americans might have missed …
New York gets Venezuela cheap oil
Venezuela denied a political move behind the dealAn oil company controlled by the Venezuelan government has made its first delivery of cut-price heating oil to the Bronx borough of New York City.
The firm, Citgo, is supplying fuel to thousands of people in deprived areas in co-operation with charities. The initiative started last month with the delivery of heating oil to Boston.
It was announced in August by Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez – a vocal critic of President George Bush.
Under the deal, Citgo said it would provide heating oil at a 40% discount to fill in tanks at properties owned by three non-profit housing corporations in the Bronx.
About 8,000 tenants from 75 buildings will benefit from the project, according to the company and the corporations.
Deliveries will continue through the winter months until 1 April.
Critics
In October, 12 Democratic US senators, including Hillary Rodham Clinton, urged chief executives of major oil companies to help with fuel assistance programmes run by the government.
THE DEAL
It was signed by three Bronx non-profit housing corporations and Citgo, the US-based subsidiary of the state owned company Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA)
The firm will provide heating oil at a 40% discount
Deliveries will continue until 1 AprilThe senators said that the only company to respond was Citgo, the US-based subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and the country’s fourth-largest gasoline retailer.
Some critics within the US say there is a political move behind the project, claiming it is designed by Venezuela to “embarrass” US oil firms and the Bush administration.
But the Venezuelan ambassador, Bernardo Alvarez, denied this.
Mr Alvarez and US Democrat representative Jose Serrano, of the Bronx, attended a ceremony to celebrate the first delivery to New York.
They said the deal was the “human face” of the energy supply between the US and Venezuela.
Venezuela’s left-leaning government, which has been benefiting from high crude prices, is already providing cut-rate oil across Latin America.
The South American country is the world’s fifth largest petroleum exporter, and the US gets 15% of its oil from Venezuela.
The Amreican companies with BSing shud have competed with lower oil for their own citizens ….
I wud like have more info on the M-90s.
The gas turbine, whose development was completed in the late 80s, rated at 20,000 shp. Is it the same one used in Neustrashimyy Frigates. The frigate is using 2 x M90 boost turbines rated at 37,000 shp where as it make use of 2 x M70, rated at 20,000 shp, as its cruise turbines. Also, want to know, if the M90FR, rated at 27,500 shp is the same as the earlier two mentioned M90 gas turbines, with a different rating.
It cud be possible that the 3 new Talwars for Indian Navy thats to arrive from Russia might feature CODOG and it might get a variant of the M90 gas turbines (rated between 25,000 shp-30,000shp?). In addition to the M90 gas turbines, the CODOG might as well get in the 10,000 hp (shp?), M507A diesels.
hope to c u guys contribution regarding the same …. any info on M90 & its variants wud be fine. …….

Baltiysky Zavod JSC completed the first boiler for Admiral Gorshkov
Press release dated 31 May 2005
Baltiysky Zavod JSC has completed the first of the nine main boiler units for the aircraft carrier, Admiral Gorshkov, purchased by India last year. This boiler is a prototype intended for the tests of main performances of new boiler units. Then this boiler will be used as a simulator for training an Indian crew of the ship. The following eight boiler units will be installed in the aircraft carrier.
The contract for main boilers manufacturing was signed by Baltiysky Zavod JSC shipyard with FSUE Northern Machine Building Enterprise (Severodvinsk) in June 2004. Fabrication of the first boiler lasted in excess of six months. Now four more boilers are in the boiler production hall at various stages of fabrication. The works under this order will continue till mid 2006.
According to the Contract Baltiysky Zavod JSC shall modify KVG-3 boiler and manufacture boilers of KVG-3D design. These new boilers are provided with a changed shape of the external shell to enable a suitable connection with the ship’s exhaust gas system. At the request of the Customer a traditional asbestos insulation was replaced with environmentally friendly materials. Furthermore, the boilers for Admiral Gorshkov run on diesel oil instead of mazut as the old boilers did. For that the fuel system and automatic equipment of the boiler were substantially changed.
A specific shape of the modified boiler like an irregular ball is caused by the necessity to withstand high internal pressure.
All the boiler equipment, such as boiler headers, steam valves and fittings, etc, is fabricated by specialists of Baltiysky Zavod JSC. Pipes and a number of boiler components are made of a special-property alloy of corrosion-resistant steel. This material is used for production of equipment for nuclear-power engineering. The components made of high-strength steel will increase the reliability of the boilers.
The power plant of the aircraft carrier, Admiral Gorshkov, consists of eight boilers. Specific skills and knowledge are required for operation, service and maintenance of these sophisticated boiler units. This is why Baltiysky Zavod has manufactured one additional boiler, the ninth, intended for training an Indian crew in basics of service, maintenance and repair of the ship’s power plant. The boiler-simulator will be installed on a stand in the premises of the Special Boiler Design Bureau (SBDB).
KVG-3D boilers (high-pressure gas-turbine boilers) pertain to the latest (third) generation of equipment for marine power plants. A distinctive feature of these units is that the air is supplied inwards under a pressure of 2.5 atm. Capability of KVG-3D boiler is up to 100 tonnes of steam per hour at the pressure 64 kg/cm2. The temperature of the steam generated is up to 470oC. Weight of the boiler – 37.5 tonnes.
INFO
The first pilot models of high-pressure boilers fabricated by Baltiysky Zavod were tested in SBDB in the 1960s. In the beginning they were used as a part of power plants of the destroyers for national Navy. Then these boilers were modified for nuclear-powered cruisers. Nuclear-powered ships use the boiler units as auxiliary power plants. For example, they are intended for navigation in European straits, where usage of nuclear power is prohibited. Nuclear-powered cruisers are fitted with two high-pressure boiler units, destroyers – with four and aircraft carriers – with eight ones.
chk the pic in the link, too, I’m not hotlinking, as it will put too much pressure on the server …
JonS and Snake tks ….. so thats from Balt Zavod … i’ve checked the site for long ..k just cheked it now 😎 the result, I’m posting in the other thread 😀
WanShan, cool down, he was just kidding …. hope so 😀
well not an expert … but ‘washout’ also depends on the processing capablity. Like, seperating the noise from the data, when the noise becomes overwhelming for any meaningful data to be retrived which makes the the use of the towed arrays practically useless …
India isnt begging to anyone for anything. We are giving top dollar & getting the stuff. Update urself on that.
really? …. first u beg for a non-issue like the N-deal (as if no one else can provide u the same) and only if that goes thru can the F-16/18 etc etc can come online …
Snake65,
i’ve seen the CG of the same …what i expected was a pic of the real boilers. As by now, 9 of them shud have been ready …
Well since the JSF is more than ten years away from possible Indian service then it might not be a bad idea to spend a (comparatively) small amount of some -16s or -18s now and then see how the issues of supply and maintenance work out over the coming decade. Personally I think a buy of a US aircraft is worth it just to get the systems and weapons. India will be in the enviable positionof being able to truly select the best weapon/system for the job from virtually the entire worlds weapons catalouge
It wud be better, if India movee forward for a full ToT deal for the F-414 and that will also provide for a first rate info as to how the support for the same is w/o spending multi-billion dollars on a/c …
In the first case, millions wud be lost, but the second case (going for f-16/18)wud be significantly higher w/o any replacement for the lose of more than half a decade …
The one picture I would love to see but just can’t find is a photo of her in the yard at the moment mid refit between Gorshkov and Vikramaditya.
The only thing I have found is some pictures of her new boilers.
u r not gonna find the pictures of the Gorshkov under modernisation as IN don’t entertain excesive coverage of such things and the reason y u don get to see it (maybe it cud change). I too wud have loed to see the conversion taking place, but then when it comes to Indian military, Indians will be the last to know abt something or to get permission for atleast taking photos, where as the MoD babus gives the same to their western daddies in the first go …. but then come 2007 and u can definetely find some when the Gorshkov will be out to test waters, and there is a Year of sea trials coming by end-2006 or early 2007 for the ‘papparazzis’ to take pictures ….
BTW, can u post the pic of the boiler???
currently it generates around 19.830 Lbs of thrust according to latest reports but eventual plan is to devolop a variant with 22k lbs of thrust for Mig-29k or thats what IN wants.
As noted earliar, that will give 29k as much thrust as SHornet while weighting roughly 3 tons less.
as usual, the pathetic case with the Indian defence forces …. if the IAF & IN had complimented each other atleast from 2003 (even though it was by 99 end it was clear that K was coming) for development of a higher thrust engine with 10+ t for the MiG-29s, the same cud have been powering the IAFs MiG-29s and the INs 29K … its really pity that such a thing did not happen …
they can take off from ski jump according to dassault which was offering it to the IN.
i don think so … Rafale is not a lifting body design like the MiG-29 or the Su-27s (neither is the F-18 to that extend) and that makes them to depend on their sheer thrust , whcih Rafakle don have enough, and i really doubt if thay cud take off from ski-jump … if there has been any ase of them haveing shown from ground based ones, i’d have considered the prospect of them taking off ….
