12 Indian pilots to be trained in Russia

MOSCOW, January 23 (Itar-Tass) – Twelve Indian pilots will be trained at a new ground-based complex in Lukhovitsy near Moscow, Deputy Director-General of the MiG aircraft-manufacturing enterprises Vyacheslav Meleshko told Itar-Tass on Friday.
The training will begin upon the expiry of 32 months after the agreements on the supply to India of the Admiral Gorshkov aircraft carrier signed by Russia and India in New Delhi recently go into force.
“At first, the pilots will take a 36 month-long theoretical course and then two month-long practical training courses, flying four MiG-29KUB training fighters. Upon their return to India, the pilots will instruct other pilots who will man the crews on board the Admiral Gorshkov cruiser. The 700-million-dollars contract on aircraft delivery covers all the training expenses,” Meleshko said.
As regards aircraft supplies to India, he said New Delhi would receive 16 fighters under the contract terms.
In 36 months, the four MiG-29KUB dual-control aircraft will be delivered to India where they will be used to train more Indian pilots. India will receive another 12 MiG-29K fighters as soon as they are manufactures and fitted out.
The contract terms envision that once every four months, India will accept two fighters at the Lukhovitsy complex. The planes will then be dismantled for Russian cargo planes to take them to India where they will be reassembled for Indian pilots to take over.
“Training flights with landing on the Admiral Gorshkov deck will become possible only after the aircraft carrier is finally transferred to the Indian Navy,” Meleshko said.

better believe the Russian source rather than the Wstersn source for Russian deal….that’ll be good …..and fair…. h pity that media is filled with Russia bashing….
