no matt am not fully underestimating it…..well whatever it maybe a cruise missile succes lies in its ‘surprise’ which is coz of the stealthy path that makes and choose to reach its target…… and that surprise alosne makes even a sub-sonic cm to evade and reach its target which shoed its case in Yugoslavia…… but at the same time …did not the commanders not got or the Th as such got its gonna be intercepted so as to evade the AD missiles??….. but then it simply cannot outmanover them ……

well if its at nite and the AD are not softened and say comes a volly of TH….. can’t a radar guided artillert shoot down them….or even with their plain trace can’t AD units fire ??…… but then its low level and its surprise apearance is what all matters in the final phase …..

One thing is getting lost in the debate… the lethality of the Tomahawk vs Brahmos or a fictional M6 missile. The Tom brings 1000lb charge to the fight whereas Brahmos brings less that a two-thirds of that amount.

well its not the case…..TH carrys 450Kg of explosives if am not wrong and so does the Klub-N/S ……. and for the Brahmos i think its the same amount and nor definetely 2/3rd….. well..when u mwntioned 2/3rd u must have taken the explosives of TH in pounds and that of the Brahmos warhead figures that u have in Kg’s…. in that case u must be correct… but then its simply not true and nor correct….

B4 someone starts to bring up the kinetic energy of the Brahmos, kinetic energy doesn’t replace explosive energy in many applications. Even for ships, kinetic energy will produce a nice a hole in the hull, and perhaps a couple more blkds, about the size of the missile. There would be a marked difference between what a 1000lb wh can do to a ship versus a 600lb.

yup its is..KE can;t replace the explosive….. but then Bahmos is not meant or is not leathel just coz of its speed alone – it has got good guidance speed and payload….. thats what makes it the deadliest CM

Also, the Tom and the Brahmos depends on different things for suvivability. The Tom depends on low-level cruise to avoid dectection while the Brahmos relies on speed to beat hard kill weaps. Each method have their pros and cons.

nope ur not correct here…. TH can be shot dowm with some aeroflot radar giving input to low lever AD’s where as the Brahmos can’t..and its not the speed alone that makes the Brahmos invincible

I would doubt very much that the Brahmos or a M6 missile can bring the killing power the Tom brings. But that doesn’t make the Brahmos any less relevant in its threat environment.

now h can u say that??……. TH can be shotdown …. where as the other two is as of now impossible to shoot down..and can u tell the killing power of the TH….. as of now its been unsed only on the donkey riding jehadi’s and poorly armed oponents even then a good number was shot down in Yugoslavia…..

I’ve seen the Sh-90/T-12 before, but wasn’t aware that they continued to develop the Su-37 design. I wonder if “237” denotes a twin-engined version?

yeah it is, the 2 in the 237 meant to designate the 2 engines…..

Flanker man….. does this on come out of KnAAPo or IAPO…..??…. as u said earlier the difference in appearance.. this one Su-27SKU has got clipped vertical fin..so is it not from the IAPO??…… can some one clarify twhich factory these come from….

well Indian….. i don agree to ur 20 yr ……if am not wrong the first one namely the AVATAR (which is actually the scaled downed version of Hyperplane) is to be tested b4 2015 at max….. anyway the report say the engine is gonna testd by 2007 so I ‘ll like to speculate that b4 2007 something wud really have flown…..
