I assumed they were 2 Typhoons. They look very similar and it was just a fleeting glimpse as I ran outside. But it has gone very quiet at the airfield so perhaps they were just passing through as gillman said. Roll on next weekend!
I have added links to all my videos so far in the Forum Theatre in Historic Aviation forum. More to follow soon.
Tony

Tony.
Glad you liked the videos. I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested in them. And Ray Hanna dipping into the valley use to be a regular thing untill ‘elf and safety came along. There’s another video i’m going to upload soon that has a Red Arrow dipping into the valley.
Tony.
I’ve just added another video of the 1995 Battle of Britain airshow. Some brilliant flying by Mark Hanna. Watch him fly his Messerschmitt through a cloud of smoke as he beats up the airfield.
Part 2 of this event (uploading now) has Ray Hanna leading a 3 Spitfire display, then taking a 2 Spit display down into the valley – just like in the old days.

There are loads more to upload so keep looking at my page.
Tony.
Very nice. I have only had a very quick look but will look at more later. I was amazed to see the 4 hurricanes but why only 4 seconds worth?? Do you have any more footage of this brilliant formation?
Tony.
So what did you get on wartime props Bruce?
Tony
and there was me thinking it was just the manufactures marks on them. Brilliant!! Thanks guys.
Tony
Very nice. In case you hadn’t noticed we have already started getting the 2010 airshow photos on the forum.
I know but I was busy and when i got around to putting them on i noticed some new ones. Hey ho. 😀
Bristol Sycamore 😉
Ah! Isn’t that a sweet name. Why don’t they call planes names like that nowadays?
:D:D:D
With apologies for quality – a combination of grainy 35mm transparency film, plus a 10year old scanner..
And sorry my other half ruins the view of the Scimitar!
Hi Paul,
Thanks for posting your photos. You can see that it was around the same time as mine. Interesting the helicopter (sorry, don’t know what it’s called) has very low rotas. I don’t suppose Elf and Safety would allow that nowadays in case someone bumped their heads on it and died!
Anyone else have any pics of this little piece of history? (the park I mean, not the helicopter)
Like I said we were just in a car park on the edge of the field taking pics when the wessex came over. They winched the man down and we thought we were going to be moved on, but he went back up and off they went.
I remember Flambards when it was the RNAS Culdrose Captain’s residence.
Talking of Culdrose, these are some pics I took on the same holiday in ’85 (may well have been the same day). We were watching the helis coming and going then one came up to the car park and gave us a short air show. Nice one lads!
Tony
PS. Spot the Gnat in the third pic?

No i don’t think it did either. It looks like it made a slow pass then full throttle out (which is what I snapped). It was one of the best BH airshows in my book.
