Don’t know what happened to the colour on the Catalina shot.

I’m sure they had their reasons but I agree, it looks strange not to have any planes there.

And the fence could do with a bit of rust treatment.

Local paper confirms that there are 2 new replicas on order and should be in place by July 1st. The 2 replacements, 32nd Sqdn Hurricane and 92 Sqdn Spitfire, will be authentic reproductions of the planes that were stationed at Biggin Hill during the Battle of Britain.

I am reading all about Hurricane R4119 that was found in India, brought back to UK and is now flying again.

Any of these flyers? Are we going to see this lovely plane at our airshows in the future?

Yep. Perth on the 17th April. If you get a chance go and watch, very exciting and brilliant flying.

what song? whos the “artist” this year

I shouldn’t worry Scott. The song’s rubbish and the singer is an unknown. I must a point of going out the night it’s on.

Not got any pics from 1976? I seem to recall it was rather hot then!

Typical. Must have been away for that one.

    Biggin Hill 1979

Here’s my next batch. We jump to May 1979. Did the sun ever shine in those days? I have got some brighter shots in the 80s.

By the way, in the second the photo, what is the plane on the far right next to the 104?
