Please note that no Hangars at Duxford were blown up during the production of that movie
??? Really. I thought they blew one up? What did they blow up in the film then? :confused:
Great! The Stukas looked more real than the models used in the original film.
😀
WOW!!!
Well it’s looking like 1987 is’t it? I checked my slides last night and I have got photos of 1987 airshow (the slides have 1987 stamped on them) and these include Concorde with 2 Spitfires so I guess I must have taken my camera as well as the old cine camera.
Thanks for all your comments.
Tony.
As i recall the Concorde was a Father’s Day special flight. So it was a Sunday AND a father’s day.
And I think the Phantom fell off the end of the runway and was unable to leave Biggin until later the following week.

Not one to be picky but shouldn’t these have gone onto the Scrapyard thread in General?
Nice photos Dave, thanks.

This is what we think so far.
Mosquito = 5
Wellington = 4
canberra, comet, hornet, tsr2, concorde, javelin, hb42 and sr71 all with 3.
Loads with 2 and lots with 1.

I would like to see a Saturn V flying again!:p
Hey, now there’s a thought!! 🙂
You should have done a search then as such a thread all ready exists!
Oh well, perhaps I should. But there have been 54 posts up to this point so it still interests people. 😀
I am with Pagen01 on this, for something to be ‘restored to flying condition’, it needs to exist, no replicas or recreations ….
When i set this thread up I didn’t think about details like that. Just what planes you wanted to see flying again. 😀
Stukas – and lots of them
I’ve told you before.
Not me guv’. Must ‘av bin someone else. 🙂
