Has to be a Stuka 😎
Image one of them simulating a dive bombing attack with its siren!
Or how about getting the siren put onto another plane so we can hear what it would have sounded like.
The mike is in the mask. Not all civil warbirds still have the oxygen system working. it’s one less thing to take care off 😉
Thanks for info. I’ll pass it on.
Tony
Just a wild guess, but isn’t the microphone in the mask?
Could be but i suspect the commentary was put on afterwards. Although that might be his communication mike of course.
Shack MR3/3 inc Vipers would be on my list
I’ve never seen a Shackleton flying so that’s also on my list.
[QUOTE=vultee35;1499505]Fantastic sound though isn’t it?

Just the best!
Black Six at Biggin 1997
Before anyone says it, I know we have a thread for YouTube videos but it just seemed apt to add this short clip here after Vultee’s pictures of the affore mentioned plane.

Nice selection. Looking back at all these show pictures shows how much we have been spoilt over the years, and perhaps how many aircraft we took for granted at the time, but now really miss, such as the EE Lightning, Victor, Phantoms etc
I agree totally Vultee. I was never lucky enough to see a Victor flying. We only ever went to Biggin Hill airshows and it never flew there (well, not when I was there).
I must get a slide copier and show you all what I have.
Tony
Yes, the two at Abingdon are the same ones now at Hendon. There’s a dozen or so more from Abingdon, but I might start a new thread for them as I don’t want to swamp this one.
I don’t want to take anything away from Vultee’s magnificent collection of photos but this thread is getting a tad long, so a new thread of oldies would, in my opinion, be a good thing.
Looking forward to seeing more of this stuff.
Tony.
I’m glad you enjoyed my pics. !
I’m glad you enjoyed my pics. !
Just wanted to say the last 2 pages have been brilliant. Love the old pics, the more grain the better. How about some more from the 60’s?
And looking forward to seeing some up to date Hendon pics too.
Tony.
Here’s another couple from Abingdon 68, 34 years before Vultee 35’s pictures from Hendon in 2002:
Were those the same 2 planes at Hendon by Vultee?
I was very proud of my Airfix model of a Spitfire when I was a kid, but to build this is just amazing. And he’s not an engineer either. He is gifted.
Well done that man.
Tony.
Cheers for the info Tim. That explains everything. Shame. I love that plane and look forward to when it will be flying again. Soon I hope.
Tony
Sorry, wandering way off topic here….back to those pips. 😉
Not at all. It’s all very interesting. And I too remember the clocks before the progs but never even thought why they were there. Si I guess it is related to the pips in a way.
