Was the Fokker DR.1 (like the Red Baron’s plane) also designed by Anthony Fokker?
Now now. I can’t see us lot being there much before 11.30. Not unless you’re planning a hijack. (don’t get any ideas!)
I’m going by plane, not by car
very nice 😉
I must give a huge credit to all those people, that make these plane’s just what they still are, Masterpiece’s of engineering for there time!!
Still are masterpiece’s 😀 !
For heaven’s sake, don’t pay any attention to the weather forecast! It is so general, it couldn’t possiblly cater specifically for Duxford Airfield. Just go, take your sunscreen and shorts and enjoy.
If you really are picky, ask a pilot to get you the Long TAF for EGSS for 050709 to 050710. That should be a little more accurate than the BBC. Then … just ignore it and come anyway.
You may be right, but the people who are coming by plane have to look at the weather forecast;
On this page are some pictures: http://www.warbirdregistry.org/a26registry/a26-4435898.html 😉
The ‘office’ of the planes 😀 very nice!
Really nice pics 😉
If the weather too bad to fly is on Saturday, I’ll go on Sunday 😀 But hopefully, for all the people who go to legends, it is going to be sunny all weekend
This are some very pretty pictures 😉
Yes, I have watched for the weather, but it doesn’t look to good 🙁 hopefully it will get better these days
Point of interest – there IS a full-scale Mustang kit around, the manufacturer of which I can’t recall, but it’s indeed pricey, and I don’t think the turbine(!) engine is included in the cost!!
The Spitfire Aircraft Co has developed Clive DuCros’ replica to take an Allison V-12. Cost (minus engine and other bits) $320,000 or something like that…
Yeah, I know the Spitfire Aircraft Company and I know the Mustang kit, both very nice
I checked my email, have send an email back
Very nice and sharp pictures
You’re right, but a full size replica could be built out of wood or even better, composites, because that’s lighter. The engine could be a Pratt & Whitney R1830 of 1200 HP. The only problem is the fuel consumption of 50 gal/h 😮 .
