SA-7 is not very effective at all… the Launch firing window is rather small … only in rear aspect…
Also in those picture you can see those Mi-24 without Exhaust Hiding devices… it seems that they forgot A-stan lessons.

Maybe the problem is that Russian sources always served border line truth facts. They may be right in some cases, and the screw up the whole thing is other. Which smack down their credibility.

21 MF sure can carry R-60, but can it carry the dual APU-62 launcher?

Art, are you sure? I don’t see wing glove pylons cleared for nukes in the weapons layout charts.

Anybody got at least a picture of russian nuke? Except the training round IAB-500 from some drawing… I never seen one

It wouldn’t be surprising if the 23 could carry Nukes.. Even 21Bis was wired to carry Nukes.

Alouette are used for mostly training
It was a IAR330 Puma. Pilot was a instructor for the type.

Hard to track. The upgrade itself is mostly software-related, plus adding a dual-channel wiring, ergo nothing a better informed technician could not do in field conditions.. Given the mess in Russia after the downfall of the Soviet Union I don’t find it surprising that there are no actual records about how many planes had this upgrade done but it is likely that all refurbished aircraft since 1991 have R-77 capability now.

Even Ukrainian Su-27s and MiG-29s were updated like this, I was told.

I realy doubt that they update to use a missile that was not even in their inventories. On some forums , RuAF forums decalred that they are using soviet era R-27 and R-73’s. No R-77 in their manuals.

Jesus what? are you aware of how many aircraft have been upgraded in the Russian air force?

    none… (maybe 50 Mig 29 9.13)
RuAF is strugling now with the money to upgrade to 27 to SM standards

yea… upgrade program which was done ….what numbers?:) none…
just the ideea of wide spread R-77 is a blasphemy… RuAF never had them in numbers… they where basically limited to cold war production missiles… lots of weird situation with the seeker heads made in other parts of ex-USSR.

Jesus not this again… those where the RVV_AE or R-77 test planes.. for christ … there are a handfull of mig 29 and very few Su-27 that can actually carring theose damn missiles. At one point in time RuAF had fewer R-77 than Chinese AF.

How many of you actually lived into a totalitarian society?
I did ..Ceausescu’s Romania ..closest match to that was NK .. What you are seing on TV is pure propaganda from NK.. Army of fanatics… nonsense… hard to be fanatic when your brain let you know that your familly die out of hungger and the fat asses in ruling party don’t care… In all totalitarian society there is a level of discomtemt … 1000000 man army for a country with 22 million starved people?? ******** … the maximum reservist pool is in 2-3 million…
10000 arty pieces??? how many of those are in the range of actully hitting Seul? if they have 1000-2000 artylery pieces above 100mm would be lucky. In that number they have mortar also, 76mm guns and lots of other old junks.. Romanian phased away the 76.2mm AT Zis-3(?!?) gun in the 89.

And BTW Ceausescu was close of making a Nuke… Megalomaniac *******…
