OUCH. poor old things. is someone saving the cockpits then?. would be a shame if they get scrapped too.

Good to be back my good lady. Seeing as my old account went ‘for a burton’ so to speak I thought I’d better start a new one. And my new title sort of sums things up somewhat.

    Regards.

Good film, Thanks for posting it. Sad to see these two making their last flight though but it’s good to know they will get preserved. (Assuming that’s whats happening to them). I’ll have to get down to Brunty to have a look at them. besides I got promised a guided tour of the Guppy that I’m keen to take up.

    Regards.

Assuming one means types still in service?. one word. HUNTER 😀

THE most beautiful aircraft ever made imho.

Second one just out of service in the last few years (If I have my info correct) is the Draken.

Third, one that SHOULD have made it and would possibly be only just going out of service. TSR2. (Insert bowing down smilie here)

A sad time indeed for fans of true British aircraft. The Nimrod is one of those aircraft much like the DC3/C47. how do you replace it?. with another one. AND with the Harriers going too. well. The powers that be have made an almighty emu up (Like a c*ck up, only bigger) with this one. hmmm, let me see, a four year capability gap. Russian subs to worry about?. maybe but I’d worry about possible goings on in another, somewhat larger and colder bit of water. I can almost hear those sabers rattling already.
Still. they could always go to Davis monthan with their cap in hand to uncle Sam and get hold of a fleet of P3’s. And last time I looked on goolies earth there were a shed load of AV8A’a there (but that was some time ago)

Not all doom and gloom though, There is always the one going into the safe hands of the Lusty Lindy crew. That means there will be at least one ready to roll if need be. and a Victor to refuel her. 😉

Have you contacted Paul Flynn (relight9) who owns the Jet Provs at Metheringham?. he may be able to help with this one.

    Regards.
