Ahhh, thanks for reminding me of the caravan Yak11…

When I said some jobs there were given a higher priority, I did have my tougue firmly placed in cheek :diablo:

(The words arse about face and priorities spring to mind)

Yes I think the caravan caper was in fact a failed attempt to convert it into a fully airworthy replica of B-26 Marauder….

    Marvelous really…

    Halifax Turret

Well, it was in the Rebel Air Museum for all the years I was there 🙂

But seriously, I will have a good rummage through the paperwork I have from my time there and see if I can come up with anything. I certain I have a little bit of history about the turret somewhere.

We never, ever seemed to be able to get around to restoring the turret, which was a shame really. There always seemed to be something else with a higher priority status to be done!

I do hope it ends up in a good home….

    That Turret

Well I’ve just checked some paperwork that I still have relating to that turret, and it seems that it was indeed from a Halifax, and not a Liberator.

    Hope this helps…

    Ahhh….I recognise that turret…

Remember that turret from all my years at the Rebel Air Museum…
It was always credited there as being Halifax (although I was never sure of it being Halifax myself)
Damn shame that collection was allowed to be split up like that….I know that it shouldn’t have been for various reasons….oops, enough of that!

Hope it goes to a good home.

    Coolham Book….

Midland Counties has a couple of copies of the Coolham book on the shelf…If I remember correctly the price is £12.95. I do know this book has been out of print for ages…

    Hope this helps.
